Dilemma
Having a big time dilemma here.... im sure you guys will have the same problem sometime down the road...
Well im all set on getting the INGs or Autoexe front bumper for my soon-to be 8 (picking up next month) but i find out that, like all the other JDM kit's front bumpers, they dont retain the use of the stock re-bar! Now there are some serious problems there concerning the re-bar...
1) it is illegal to be driving without a re-bar
2) i dont want to risk my life in a head on collision
So as much as i want and can get the JDM bumpers to make my 8 pimpin i have to trade my possible life for it?! :o
The only kit out there that i found that DOES retain the use of the stock re-bar is the almightly MS front bumper....
But here comes another dilemma!... I know the MS kit is really hot....but i assume the real mazdaspeed RX-8 will make its way to North America in 1 or 2 years and so if i get the MS front bumper i will have the same looking bumper which defeats the purpose of me getting a kit to look special and unlike the other 8s...
Anyone care to shed some light or give their 2 cents?

I doubt the Mazdaspeed kit will become common - it's just too damn expensive. But if you really want a kit OTHER than the Mazdaspeed, I'm sure a good metal fabricator and/or welding shop could fab up a re-bar to replace the one you take out. Shouldn't even cost that much, relative to the cost of the body kit. Hope this helps...

i know head on collisions dont occur everyday but it all comes down to one question you ask yourself.....
if you were to get into a head on collision.......neglecting the fact that whether the collision is serious enough to impact with the re-bar or not......
Would you rather be WITH a re-bar or WITHOUT a re-bar?..

So it is established that it is not possible to use the stock bar with the Ings Body kit? If yes, why is that so? I would imagine that the bumper is appoximately the same size as the stock bumper
