DIY Mazdaspeed Sideskirt Install??

I am ordering the mazdaspeed sideskirts from ocmazda and im wondering is the installation simple enough to do it myself?

I currently have the stock appearance package so I dont know if I need to drill more holes, etc.

Any help is appreciated, I'd rather ship these to my door and install myself and avoid using a shop!

Any general info on the installation / mounting of MS sideskirts would help!

My local dealership quoted me $190 for installing the sides... sound reasonable?

It doesn't sound that bad I guess. Try getting a price quote from a couple auto body shops as well.

you need to drill holes... and the location is very easy to f'up with the templates they give you

... but its definately a project a DIY'er can tackle in a couple hours with a friend

I've been sizing this up for a while now. I would like to attempt this on my own but I have a question. With jackstands in place, would it be in the way of drilling and doing fitment tests? What do you think is the best method? Raise the whole car on 4 jackstands? Or get the car raised by wheel ramps?

One side at a time. I actually found the templates to be very accurate. Line it up, measure twice, drill once (for each hole). The hardest thing for me was taking the stupid side aero flares off because the rear bolt was rusted shut.

So it is perfectly OK to have the car sitting on 2 jackstands on one side?

Back in '04 I wrote a DIY on installing MS body parts. Do a search for it. I'm sure others have written similar DIYs as well.
