Ebay Mazdaspeed Style Bodykit

Hi,
I'm thinking about buying a mazdaspeed style bodykit off of ebay. I looked up how much the actual Mazdaspeed kit and how much it sell for and found out around $4500-6000. The one on ebay sells for 300$ plus about 200$ shipping.
The link is:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=36475

So I'm just posting to get your guys' feedback on whether you think it's a good deal or i'm getting ripped off and the quality of the kit. I understand some of you guys won't like the idea of a fake mazdaspeed kit and i understand that. It comes with 2 side skirts, front nose piece, and the rear bumper piece. They are all unpainted. So any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks, Ryan

I saw the same thing 10 minutes ago and was also surprised by the price. I wonder if its cheap junk?!

I also was looking at the rear spoiler for like US$160 or CAN$201 PAINTED AND READY FOR INSTALLION. Sounds too cheap for me. Its a replica of the original one.

Here's the link to that one too.:

Anybody have an opinion for buying from these two guys?

I dunno...I thought about buying from them as well. I really could care less about having the "actual" Mazdaspeed this or that. If it looks similiar, then it works for me. It's not like that part is going to make the car faster...

I don´t mean to be negative, but usually you get what you pay for... I doubt that is genuine MS products... Think about it!

Yea i found the Rotary Extreme Mazdaspeed Style Kit for $1250. So I might just go for that one so at least I know I'm getting quality. Also would polyurethane or fiberglass be a better material and which would look better painted?

i think fiberglass is lighter/stronger but also more expensive... and polyurethane is cheaper... like alot cheaper in some kits i've seen... and durable enough.... not like u'll kick it or crash it...

i might be wrong... it might be the other way around... but u get the idea...

ebay kits = crap. Just the truth. Search for ebay kits or replicas and you will find many disappointed people who bought the kit stating horrible conditions of the kit or how it cost so much to put it on.

Polyurethane is actually a lot stronger, heavier, and more expensive than Fiberglass. Polyurethane is soft and flexible and would not crack as easy as Fiberglass. When painted, Polyurethane is more resistant to chipping. Polyurethane is also the same material used to make stock bumpers. The Genuine MS Bodykit is made of Polyurethane.

Fiberglass on the other hand is light, but not as strong as Polyurethane (unless its thick), and not flexible; its actually very hard. Its easier to make and cost less, however, when painted, it chips easily and if you bump into something hard enough, its likely to crack.

Most of the aftermarket bodykits, including the JDM ones are made of Fiberglass. Some are better quality because they're thicker.

There was this other thread I read few days ago; someone complained about a MS "Style" bodykit they purchased for $700. The kit was made of Fiberglass, but it didn't fit right. The front bumper came up short, leaving a huge gap between the bumper nose and the hood, as well as the left and right fender.

The Deal you saw on eBay is good, but I guarantee you the quality is ****, and its definitely FAKE (hense, MS "Style"). You're going to have problems and end up wasting $300. If you're thinking of buying a decent bodykit, its going to cost you at least $1500 or so, perhaps more. The JDM version are expensive, but they're good quality Fiberglass kits, and they fit. The one sold by Rotary Extreme is also nice.

However, if you buy the real MS Kit, its going to last you a long time, plus it comes painted. You could pick up the entire MS Kit from Trussville Mazda for about $2800 or so. Hope this helps (my 2 cent)

Here are two threads that might be of interest. The consensus is there is no way you can install this yourself and have it look good. If you know a very good bodyshop you should get good results. But with EBay you get what you pay for and sometimes you get even less.

amazingly, a mate of mine had a minor accident on the motorway getting his front bar to pieces. Its a 350Z and was quite sure that it was fibreglass. And no, fibreglass is cheaper than polyurethane.

Then again, my emphasis would be on the fact that rx8s are better built than 350z's.

Do a search next time people! I've been THERE and done THAT... fiberglass is a NO NO! went w/ oem... perfect!

Aeroworks also is pretty good..

(however, there are a few... and i mean FEW who have been successful w/ fiberglass <--for now at least)
