Factory Body kit

Hi all,

I've been reading the list for the last week and decided to join up.

I'm looking a tuying a Black RX8 and I am looking at getting the factory body kit fitted.

I am after a subtle look with the kit - what do you guys (and girls) think?

I kinda wish I got the AP with mine. I guess I was just happy to get an RX-8 at the time and I didn't see any on the lot that had it so I never really knew about it until afterwards. However, the more I see 8's with the flares and airdam, the more I want it. I know I can still buy it as aftermarket, but I read how they're not just easily bolted on. I don't know any shop I trust my with 8 to put it on so I may go back to the dealer (if that's even a good idea) and ask them to install it. I'm still considering whether I want the airdam though since that will lessen my clearance in the front and make me worry about bumping the curbs when parking. I haven't seen anyone with the side and rear flares only, but because the side flares are only half way up, I don't think the airdam is necessary. We'll see if I go through with it.

Just for kicks, I had photoshop'd the rear and side aeroflares on my car. What do you think?

I like the change. I am in precisely the same situation, and I am thinking seriously about the rear flares. I think they will broaden the appearance of the car's butt, and it needs some width. Right now it's top heavy. My Racing Beat exhaust tips remedied much of that problem, but I think the flares would really help, too. I like the side flares, too, but I worry about paint chipping. I think in a year or two they might look really tired.
