Lightbulb Fender Strakes...

I have an 05 Titanium Gray 8 with the Grand Touring package and wanted to know which fender strake would look better on my 8. Should i get the polished aluminum wich cost $250.00 at Mazda or do I go with an after market color matched one for about $75.00? I was also thinking of getting the front splash guard also color matched. Will my 8 LOOK TOO dull with everything Titanium Gray? What do you guys think?

Personally I went with the polished aluminum so they stand out and not blend in.

Somthing to consider, I herd that the metal ones from mazda are heavy and might pull the black meshing on the fender off. if say you hit some bumps or somthing like that (and they cost 250.00) I bought some aftermarket ones made of heavy plastic and I havent had any problems.

The ones from Mazda are way too expensive, plus since they're aluminum they'll have problems with pitting and corroding. Try http://www.rx8-accessories.com! This guy in England actually makes them with stainless steel and they end up costing around $130 USD. I just put them on over the weekend and they look great!

I also got the stainless steel ones from the ebay guy. I really love them and wouldn't go with any other color at all.

Don't buy the ones from Mazda. They're made of cheap aluminum and won't last very long.
The ones from UK are of AMAZING quality and look great! Don't worry about the weight, it will not be an issue.

Here's a picture for you:

Hey where did you get them from? I'm looking for some and some clear corners too. But some site say they are on back order.

I had the Mazda ones but then got the chrome plated SS ones from Howard because I thought they looked nicer, especially with chrome rims

I think strakes look good if you stay stock appearance. but if you get a kit or whatnot, then they have to go.

I want to get the Strakes as well, and it appears that the ones from England are the highest quality. One question though-- when the sunlight hits them, will they blind pedestrians and other drivers?

Also-- it appears the England site is out of stock. Any alternate place to get them?
