Fender Strakes or painted Fender Grill?
I painted the fender grill the same color that I painted my calipers. I was wondering if anyone else has done the same or was thinking about it. Will post pick this weekend.

OH MY GOD! You can't honestly tell me that you think your yellow vents look GOOD? Jesus Christ, paint them black!!!!!!!! It's hurting my eyes!!!!! Aghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
I don't get it at all - you take out your yellow corner lights, but then paint your vents yellow?
Are you color blind?

hey RX8Lover, each to his own. its his ride... yellow and black is a good combo in my opinion, i just dont know if it works on the vents bro... maybe a light blue would work... just a thought. but if you like it, hats off. im planning on painting mine silver some time soon... or atleast the outer edge.

RX8Lover-
I think that you are the one that is color blind. The original side markers are ORANGE not yellow. If i was going to paint the fender orange I would of left it alone.
I am going to enjoy the uniqueness of my car. This was just an alternative to the strakes that other people have. If i had any other color that black I would of left the color alone but the black on black was BLAHHHHH.

Glad to see someone else out there thinking outside the box! For my tastes, I think the yellow is a bit bright, but black and yellow have always gone well together. Glad you're liking it and don't sweat the negatives.
Might have to play with Photoshop to see what Red ones look like on a Tit. Grey. Hmmmmmmm

I love the matching the calipers to the vents idea, but I am also in the "don't like yellow" camp. I would have liked to see silver also, but if you like it then screw everyone else's opinions, mine included.

Since this was such a good idea, I'm painting mine Yellow too... Calipers and Grill... also my friend is doing his too.. so there will be 3 Black RX-8 with Yellow craziness. Cool huh? All of us all the same.. identical.

I used Enigne paint for both. Between me and my friends painting calipers engine paint works better then caliper paint. I first primed it then painted it and then put on a glossy fininsh. I enjoy my color if others do not, but the colors also represent my alma madder UCF Golden Knights

cool idea dont worry about what everbody else likes your the one who laid down the money for the car do what you want and have fun doing it. im sure many will follow in your idea with many color variations that alot of people may like or dislike, but its their car
the yellow blur when you pass people will definitely make people look twice. enjoy

Adding some other yellow accents around the car would be a good idea I think...
also...maybe ordering some of those cheaper plastic strakes people on this forum are making and painting them black....I think the black strakes intersecting the yellow fender would look mighty nice
