Fender Vents Gotta Go!

I'm pretty new to the club, and probably missed some good posts on this subject. Anyone have any ideas or products to make these vents look a little more presentable? I find it impossible to clean them, and the plastic looks kinda cheap anyway. Do the strakes include new vents as well?

And how about the grills? I'd like to see what people are doing with there's.

A search will answer all of your questions. The strakes don't come with anything else, but make the vents look sweet !

The vents alone do look like something is missing. The strakes take away that cheap look.

Aftermarket aluminum fender vents would look really good. I personally hate the strakes.

Maybe at the least make some new plastic ones that aren't honey combed. Make them slots and color matched.

The strakes do look pretty good, but I would rather spend my money on something else. I also like the idea of aluminum. I think an aluminum "ring" with an open center would look cool.

I wonder if just taking the vents out would look good. Anyone know how?

Also wondering if anyone had purchased the license plate frame from Mazda. It's really frick'n expensive, and they don't have pictures on their website. I bought one off of Ebay this week, and it looks like ****! Not to mention it doesn't fit anyway. Wasted $14. Beware.

Those do look really sweet, but I don't see where anyone is marketing them...

I'm getting the materials together to make a set of woven stainless grills (to match the RB oil cooler screens), and I'm hoping to be able to make some fender grill replacements as well (I figure that should look pretty good on black, not sure if it'd work with other colors, though).

If I can get stuff mounted in time, I'll try to get some pics shot at a meet or something (I don't currently have the capabioity to put up pics on my own).

Probably won't be able to do a pictoral DIY, but will have dimensions and may be able to write up some steps after it's all finished (assuming I can get it to work at all, that is....)

Thought about this in another thread and will evenutally get around to do it on mine as a test but, here is a mock up of what I am thinking about. I want to take the plastic weave out of the center part, place a solid piece turning in and gap the front side of the car with a vent that is backed up with black mesh to vent this all. This will take some custom strakes but, hey, I am going to make some of them anyway and an additional design will not be hard.
