I know for a fact that Jay originally mimicked the autobahn vents exactly...down to the actual method of installation including the two sided tape and zip ties...
and because there were so many problems with that he decided to revamp them...
and i know that takes lots of time...
just my 2cents....

It seems like most people are still not comfortable with the last solution. So I figure out another way.
New solution. If you take out the OEM vent, there is 2 metal frame in the middle. We can tie down the middle part easy with original solution. Of course not tie down to the mash. On the back of our vent will have 2 hooks for you to attach the zip ties. Hardest part is to hold the top and bottom part of the vent. I will try to make a metal clip on the top and bottom part's reverse side. so once center part is on in place. Then you just clip in the top and bottome clips. They will be same clip way as the factory vents. This way for sure they will never fall off. Also once top and bottom clips are in, they will bent in the vents, so will make the shape correctly.
P.S my last install with real Autobhan vents was very hard too. Lots of cuts from the fender. Cuz not much room to work with and zip tie is just too hard to secure...

jay, i admire your persistence in making this product as best as it can be, even going as far as to make them fit and install BETTER than originals. however, i am still not certain of your customer service skills which have been questionable in the past. you put out a lot of good products that i would like to see myself owning one day, but what scares me is having a problem with my order then having to deal with a lot of waiting. perhaps you need to hire someone to deal with customers so that you can concentrate on production? not sure if that would be better..

I keep hearing about customer services issues, but I own quite a few EVO-R pieces and have never had any problems with Jay's service. Even an exchange I had to do went by without issue.

That clip is a nice solution. My carbon fiber vents are put on with quicksteel. After seeing so many people concerned with zip ties, I know most would never go the route I have, but they have been on over a year and no problems so far.
