Turst me I'll get this fender vent thing working again. All my other products are perfect with no problems. I even bought this RX-8 just to make these new vents... hahah.. na Had a good deal on this turbo 8 and cannot pass it.

Zip ties is for sure not the solution to go on this. Majot issue on our first vents is that factory did not trim it to the exact size of the original vents. So when put on it will be too short. Now I got a 8, I'll make sure all fits first. (Even tho I have to drive around with out any vents =( )

Want to let you guys know. I did finally came up with a solution. These vents now snaps on. Installation only took me 30 sec to put on. I drove my 8 with them on for 3 days in raining days. Still holds strong. With my own 8 I can take more time figure out how to fix this. I found the exact point where the vents needs to be hold. At those 2 points I made custom metal clips. Below is a video of how to install. Happy Holidays.

i'm glad to see that everything is starting to come together with these. i have a question tho. for the removal of the OEM vents you would have to go through the wheel well correct? only problem for me would be that my side skirts screw over the wheel wells so i might have to take off the skirt unless there is another way to do it?

Don't need to remove wheel wall. If you can fell and know the exact location of the factory vent's plastic snap, use a flat head with cloth on the tip of it. Push in and pop out.

OK sounds good, thanks for making the video - it shows that you do care about getting us the better designed vents... I will await you final design. Please let me know when you have it all figured out... and if I should ship my painted vents back to you or if you are going to supply new painted ones upon the return of my vents etc..

Basicly this is all done. Some of you had problem putting them on, is cuz on some vents I have the edge are not trimmed to the factory line. So they were are to put on or leaving vent holes out. I have to test fit all 40 of them and make sure they all are lined up. Then put clips on them all. If need painted version I can have that done. I try my with winning blue painted. It just don't look good. I like my with Ti gray or unpainted.

i gotta tell ya, i have been monitoring this thread to see what came of it.

while i commend you for your efforts, the video you posted shows that the slightest tough makes them buckle in the middle. you should probably put the same clips that you have on the top and bottom onto the sides as well.

Yea, I'm going to put some more clip on the center part too. Driving with just 1 one top and bottom now and they are still on okay. Getting some made in water marked carbon fiber. Real carbon fiber working in prograss too...

ok well i just got finished trying to install my vents. fitment was not very good at all. they both were not properly trimmed down and were bulging at the middle. they did not sit any where close to flush to the body. on the passenger vent there was a big gap on the bottom but that could have been because of the lack of trimming. in all i'm not happy with them and i have the stock vent on now. i realize that nothing is going to fit as good as stock but my new vents werent close.

You need to move around and try to push the center part all the way in. Make sure center part have a clip on it. I did include extra clip. Once center part is curved in, the top part should close the gap very well. Cuz this vent is curved. If you take time and try it will work.

ok well i ventured out to install the vents again and jay was right, i needed to push more in the center to get them in. so i got the vents in and the clips seem to be holding up but tomorrow will be the first drive so we'll see. one of the vents just needs to be trimmed slightly so it will clear the body and take away a gap on the bottom. i'll post up pics once i load them onto my computer
