Flat Black
Need some info on satin/flat black paint. Chip easy? Show dirt easy? Can you wax it? Just some all around info, I'm very tempted to get it painted completely flat black. Maybe some velocity red accents on the hood, evil M badges, few other spots. Lemme know what you think and help me make my decision!

Basically it's a two stage paint job. If you want to do it right. Put down a base color, black for instance. Then it has to be shot with a clear coat.
Now clear coats are high gloss. So you'll have to add a flattening agent into the clear. When your done you'll have a Satin Black car. With all the characteristics of a normal High Gloss paint job. You'll be able to wash and wax the same as any other High Gloss clear coated car.
Just remember that if your doing additional colors and they have to be clear coated they will be Satin also. Unless you mask them separate and shoot them with High Gloss. Also remember if you do that you will have paint edges between the colors.

looks just as good, cheaper, and can be removed if you get sick of it or want to sell your car

I am a painter...in fact I did a little flat painting today on a truck. It wasn't black, but a graphite color tho.
not everyone is going to like the look of it, don't stress out over it

I prefer matte white, it's more unique IMO, and flat/matte black paint jobs are getting played out. Also there is a difference between flat black and Matte black. Matte looks much better.
This is what a matte black paint job should look like IMO:
