Front License Plate Relocator (Tow-Hook)
I dont know if any of you guys have seen this, but i just got this in the mail yesterday because I couldnt find a proper place to place the front plate. My car didnt come with a front bracket and once I found the stock bracket... it didnt exactly float my boat. So I went on a hunt on relocations... none of which seemed to look good... by the fog light... drilling holes in your bumper... the evo-kit modified for the rx8...
... after countless hours researching i found something decent. It's also adjustable to the angle of th bumper. I mean, the ca plate isnt exactly the best looking plate but personally, sure does beat the 75$ violation that CA is being more aggressive on - as a method of obtaining revenue for the mass debt that we are in (nothing new).
Anyways, check it out! I figued i would be a neat purchase for those of you looking into this. Not to mention that the plate in between the glass and your dash wont fly by as much anymore. I've never gotten a ticket, but better safe than sorry
Visit - rho-plate.com - there are applications for many cars.
enjoy:

There are some rubber adhesive add-ons on the back of the plate that will help prevent the bumper and plate from ever scratchin' one another. I thought that was pretty neat.

CorkSport makes one for the 2 and 3 that will also work on the 8. It sits a little lower than this one, but covers the fog light. It's built very nicely: http://www.corksport.com/corksport-l...daspeed-3.html

Understandable concern I tried my best to place this with minimal air restriction(air intake is on the driver side), but at the same time had to make sure that the plate cleared it's surroundings. I look forward to see what others post up!

Made my own a long time ago.
for anyone wondering, the bolt needed to screw into the tow hook is a M20 size. home depot/loews carries up to around M18 or so, so you need to order it off mcmastercarr.
the total project costed about the same as the RHO plate, and i got to control exactly where i wanted the plate. It looks like its blocking the fog light in the pics, but when you are driving you cannot tell that anything is blocking it.

Got my RHO plate in today. Looks very nice and looks like it will do the job very well.
For the price of this thing I would much rather buy it than worrying about a DIY project.
WTBRotary I wish I didnt have to run it but for the time being I do and this seems the best way to run a plate. Only takes a minute to take off and remove so thats a plus.

I have never ran a plate, and have never been hassled. Even if I did get a ticket, it's a "fix it" ticket anyway so I would just zip tie a plate on and get it dismissed. But if you have to have one then this works.

Yeah there is not really a way to make one look good. I get away with it here, but if you work on a military base you have to have it, not sure where else they would be really strict about it. It does give them a reason to pull you over but if you have nothing to hide then it's no biggie. I have been pulled over for it twice but have never gotten a ticket for it.
