Angry Front nose replacement

I just got my RX-8 two weeks ago. Someone backed up and dent my front bumper at the mall, where the emblem is located.

1) Should I replace the front nose (bumper) with stock one? If so where can I get a replacement?

2) Maybe I should get a aftermarket nose. Any recommendations or pictures of some?

Thanks.

mazda can probably get you a stock one.
I would get a aftermarket one but it will cost a lot more.
I would take into consideration the price difference between the stock one and the aftermarket one

When it comes to body stuff if you just have to go aftermarket then go aftermarket.

After getting my Top Secret Front bumper however i would say stay stock. Sure it looks nice but its gonna cost a hell of a lot more than you think it will.

Usually if your gonna get a front nose replacement and its aftermarket your gonna be lower than your sideskirts and rear noticiably. Add this to your tab and while your at it add the cost of getting the part painted and fitted correctly.

Even if the part is an original it will most likely have to be worked on a little to get it just right.

Some of whats under your bumper like the absorber etc may have to be removed depending on the design of the bumper.

Take this cost which will be in the thousands about 2.5 or so (most likely more with the mazdaspeed stuff) and compare to just replacing your bumper with a stock setup.

Now take that money and instead apply it to one of two things.

1. Principal of your car payment (if you have one) you will have more money for mods later on since you wont be paying for the dang interest.

2. Or use that for internal mods mmmmmm ....or even rims. I have never messed up my rims before so they seem like a pretty sound purchase.

Our car is beautiful even without a bodykit I would keep it stock because if you spend all this money on the bodykit and someone dents it or cracks it etc your really gonna feel the pain on that one. It will also get lots of attention especially the mazdaspeed one. This attention will be good and bad.

If you do it tho however do it right and dont cheap out and get some nasty e-bay or blue fiberglassed copy. Do a show or 2 and just remember your car will get damaged eventually so take it in stride.

Call Rosenthal Mazda. You should be able to get an unpainted stock bumper for about $320 + $30 shipping. I doubt you will find a better price or better service.

Sorry about the bump. Was doing a search and didn't see the dates.

Perhaps my post will help if someone needs a front nose in the future.
