NY front number plate question

Hi, Does anyone have any idea how to put the front number plate on the side, not in the front. is there a installation kit for this kinda of thing or just totally DIY stuff.

Thanks

If you can not leave it off and your state does not require expiration tags up front then consider cutting off the top and bottom of the plate to make it narrower. Gives a much smaller foot print and more options to mount and be less intrusive.

I'm in Jersey and the cops will %*$# you if you don't have a plate so i leave mine on. Check the DIY section they have an evo plate remount. places the Plate below the oil cooler.

Just my $.02

There is no way in hell that we can get away with that in NY. My father got a ticket for having a license plate frame on his plates. like WTF?

some states require you to display the state name on the plate so cutting it down doesn't help. i have however seen people just bend the top and bottom back so you can see them. cops will have a harder time arguing with that.

and thats exactly what I did, Ive been told by several state troopers that as long as the plate can be restored to its original condition if there is any reason the plate needs to be returned, it, theres really nothing they can give you a ticket

...or you can just put it in the front windshield on the passenger side corner...
no installation required and it looks the best

I do not like the plate in the window.

My preference:

1. No plate
2. Cut down or bent plate
3. JDM style (angled back)

I used to do that(in the window) as long as I could but working on a military base I used to get harrassed by the MPs all the time, they and several county cops I know view that as a temporary solution and will only fly for a week or so,,,
