Front splash guard opinions

I need some help deciding whether or not to install front splash guards on my NG.
I initially was all set to do it (more for the protection than the looks) and now having second thoughts.
Will adding these make the car look 'dorky'? or do you think it will add a bit more styling? What do you think? Oh, I do have the appearance package if that makes a difference.
Maybe someone out there has pics of cars with front splashes?
Thanks.

Not nordic green, but here are a couple of photos for you to decide about the look with the appearance package and front splash guards:

I like the looks of the splash guards. I opted to have them installed instead of the rear aero flares.

Thank you all for the input.

I decided to go with them and installed them yesterday (A simple 15-30 minute job by the way!). I agree with BrotherVooDoo (who, by the way has my car with the exception of my calipers are painted silver!) that with the Appearance package, the splash guards seem to 'finish' off the side of the car!

Glad I used the search button.

damn, I just now noticed that the appearance package does not come with front splash guards. :o

I'm a bit confused as to why Mazda would do that...

Any how, I think I will be getting the front splash guards when my RX8 arrives.

Oh, and I agree with the masses...it completely flows with the appearance package.

to give you another point of reference, see the following thread on the "other" RX-8 site.

http://www.rx8web.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1408

Go about half way down the page to see the progression of my VR '8 from nothing, to splash guards, to SGs plus side aero flares. I really like the look.

Nice Job etcher! I think the front air dam would finish that off nicely. :D
Any plans on installing one?

I've toyed with the idea of the front air dam, but I kind of like the look without it also. Makes mine a little bit more "unique". Right now, its somewhere down the list of "Mods to do". I'll do a few more less expensive mods before I get to that one, if I do.
