If the scratches aren't too deep compounding and buffing will take them right out. There's also some 3m liquid that a friend of mine had that rubbed scratches off of my previous car. I'll find out and post it soon.

Mazda touchup paint and the Langka kit will help fix the deeper scratches. The lighter ones should buff out with rubbing compound. IMO the langka kit is the best $40 I've spent in quite awhile.

what kind of scratches are we talking about? Small hairline scratches? aka swirl marks?

are they deep?

If not, a good wax could definitely fill those in and cover them up. Let me know what they look like and I'll try and recommend a product.

i dunno how ppl on here say langka is easy to use. i've tried it, and it's nearly impossible to get it to work the way they claim it works.

Detrich,

It did take me a couple of times to get the hang of it. The good thing is that if you mess up, you just use the blob eliminator to remove all of the touch-up paint and start over. I also watched the video from their site several times, but it still took some practice. Once you get it down, it is almost impossible to tell where you've used it.

Here's Meguiar's Deep Crystal polish:

Meguiar's Tech Wax Paste might be another great option:

And of course, my personal favorite; Zaino Z5 (for fine scratch marks and swirls)

need to try langka thanks to dealer

My dealer put a scratch in my fender while replacing the headlight, then tried to fix it with touch up paint. They claim the scratch was there and they were just doing me a favor. Anyway, I can't stand the "Blob Effect" that touch up paint creates. Thanks for this post. It may be the answer to "favor".

Cooper red?! Never heard of that color!!! I had to be a dbag for a second! +1 for attempting to buff them out, if that doesnt work then try touch up. You'll be surprised what a good exterior detail (wash, clay, buff, wax) will do for the looks of your car.

check with Rosenthal, they've got touch up paint pens that also have clearcoat.
(remember those pens that had ink on one side, and a highlighter on the other?? Similiar to that)

Good luck with the touch up paint
The small bottle of touch up paint my Mazda dealer sent me does a fairly good job cover the little dents on my copper red from following too many trucks but it just doesnt match the factory paint all that well
When the weather gets a bit more warmer outside i take a pic of my car with the touch up paint. I can definitely tell where i used the touch up paint
