Gold Headlamps?

I was wondering if anyone sells those gold headlamp lenses for the RX-8. Here is an example (sorry I had to use a Z as my example. I'll remind myself to stick my hand in a waffle iron ala Peter Griffin.):

I've never heard anything about them. Some folks were talking about darkening the lenses in another thread. I think they said to try dying them right before they started making fun of the guy for being from the '80s.

Ah. Here it is: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...threadid=31047

Edit:
Bollocks. I just re-read the post. They only laughed at the guy. Still, you might be able to PM him to see if he had any luck.

The 80s are awesome. What color is your Members Only jacket? BTW, I read that thread. Blacked out lenses eh? Hmmm...

Anyhoo, it was just a thought. Besides, I'm not doing anything until I can get some power and grip out of my car, unless someone can prove to me that gold headlamps can do such things.

If you have any sticker on your car, it adds WHP. Why do you think everyone on Fast and the Furious (1 & 2) have gigantic stickers? Look at the picture you posted! 100s of stickers. Stickers are the cheapest way to add HP. Now, I can only imagine what a sticker on your lense would add.

In all seriousness... what would that do to the light coming out from behind it? Seems like it would dull it or make it yellowish-ugly? Yellow beams look like old car lights. But it's all personal preference and I'll probably never see your ride in real life (and if I ever do, I'll still apreciate it as an interpretation of the potential of the '8).

...chuckle... funny you should mention that. Here's one on eBay for the RX-8s headlights that's got to be good for at least 15 HP... :D

Okay maybe gold headlamps are pretty lame here in the States. I guess it's all about gold for me. I think the gold Gram Lights will do just fine :D .

Might look ok with the yellow paint. I'll say it again, MIGHT. Don't think gold lenses will do much for your Zenons though.

I don't have Xenon headlamps . I bought the basest of the base RX-8s. So what if I'm poor, I have an RX-8 :D.

So did I. More by choice than by limitations. Do I need leather? Nah. Do I want a hot *** in the summer? Nah. Do I want a cold *** in the winter? Nah. Do I need a sun roof? Never had one before, so, Nah. Do I want the appearance package? I might get a kit, so Nah. If I don't get a kit, I can lower it more, so Nah. Do I want DSC? HELL NO.

I'm happy with the base M/T. $27,000. No bloat. No irritation. Much closer to a sports car than a luxury car. Plus, if you wanted to foot the 32K for the upgrades, that's another 5K to play with for aftermarket upgrades.

Right? I wanted my RX-8 to be as raw as possible. My dealer had so many with sunroofs, spoliers, DVD navigation, etc. on their RX-8s. I was turned off by the pricey options until I found my baby .

Bump. Gold headlamps are awesome.

I'm thinking about gold-tinting my headlamps.

found this:

You can also try your local hobby store and ask for clear yellow spray paint... Tamiya makes some.

Good luck!

I'm sure someone can tint them that color.

Hey, don't some Le Mans race cars have the gold/yellow tinting on their lights? I remember seeing a Viper Le Mans car with that. I wonder why they do it?

Look, I found a Porsche 911 with the tint:

And a Lamborghini:

I'm with you two. Base model all the way. 25k and change. Plus, ours is lighter to boot. I never cared for HID lights, to blue to look at, and too much $$$ to replace. I started adding stuff after market at seriously reduced prices. Let's me customize as I choose.
