Got Some Ideas, Need Some Input
As some of you know, my 8 is sitting sadly in my front yard, has been for a few weeks, will be for about 2 more months. I messed up my synchros in the transmission and shortly after broke my clutch. I figured if its gonna sit there until i re-enlist and get my bonus, why not do some DIY cheap stuff to the exterior? What i have in mind right now is a front and rear bumper from RaceOnUSA.com, which by the way is a good place to find low price body modifications. Has anyone bought from this site before? What was the quality of the items purchased? Were they direct bolt ons? Also thinking about doing some work in my engine bay, clean it up a little. I was thinking about a few things, such as, painting my RB Intake VR with the VR Rattle can i bought last week, also was gonna cut a 8x6 in. hole in the top of the RB Intake box and replace it with plexiglass, then mask the inside walls of the intake with mirrors and throw some red LEDs in there. Same with my battery cover and engine cover, painting both of those VR as well. Im planning on painting the inside of my headlights like "Shakeyourbrakes" did, only VR. Maybe even try to paint the tail lights as well, gonna have to figure out a way to pop the taillights open.
Heres where i really need your opinion, i was thinking i might paint either the entire rims VR or just paint the inner part of the rims VR and leave the outer side of the "spokes" black.
Lemme know what you all think.

YeahYeahYouWere, Thanks for the input bro, thats why i was asking, i might do some computer photoshopped pics just to see what it would look like, ill keep you guys posted, thanks for the input once again.
JO3K1LLARX8, I understand what you are saying but my bonus is a guaranteed number, so i dont have to worry about having enough money to fix the transmission and clutch, I just figure instead of letting my 8 sit out there and do nothing to it, why not do a little cosmetic surgery while im waiting. =D Have any opinions on the ideas i had?
Heres What i had in mind.
Sorry for the crappy paint picture. =D

as far as the racing beat intake i think someone here did that on a WB i have the pics saved on my home computer, ill see if i can dig them up for you though. as for the wheel part, have you thought of going with a time attack look and just painting the lip red? i dont think that would look bad at all, but of your choices above i would say number 4 would prolly look the best!! thank you for your service to our country!!

Perks11, Thank you for your appreciation, and thank you for your input, thats a great idea. I think i might just paint the lip now! Still need some input on painting the inside of my healdlights VR like Shakeyourbrakes did (his is white) and also need some info on the bodykit website raceonusa.com.
Thanks alot brothers, this is why i love this community.

+1 for the thank you, and the 'time attack' look. However, there is still a big problem with the stock wheel and the time attack scheme, namely that the spoke's joint to the lip is angled (as highlighted in the attached picture - a picture is worth 1000 words). You would obviously have to paint the entire spoke, face and sides, solidly, which means there's going to be little jabs of black into the red lip. It might look really cool, but it might also be really awkward. Perhaps some photoshops could shed a bit more light on it.

About the photoshops, i was thinkin the same thing, anyone good with photoshop? I still think it might look alright, but you never know, i still have a couple weeks before the paint gets here, so i have some time to think on it. Great point tho, and thanks again for the appreciation and help.

as for the headlights i have been thinking about this too, but im kinda on the fence. i like the way they look stock but if painting the headlights gives them the look of the new c6 corvette im all for it. but the idea of baking those expensive headlights scares me at the same time. as for the wheels, yea never really noticed that yeahyeah, maybe i would do it to where the spoke meets the lip (the smaller portion) as for photoshop i suck so i would be of no help

Hahaha, no worries man. As for the headlights, theres a DIY step-by-step around here somewhere that has a few +1s on it. Im just gonna follow those directions exactly and try it, if all els fails. I buy new headlights =[.

Come on guys, nothin? Can someone whos good at photoshopping at least try to take that picture of the rims and make them black like mine, but with a red lip?
#19
I say Paint them, your car is already very bold so painting the rims will only make it more unique, and improve the look that your going for. But I say to go with option number 4, but paint the sides of each spoke Red aswell, leaving the Lip black.
