Got vertical doors? I need some help...PLEASE!!!

Ok, got my GT Factory kit installed and it looks AWSOME!!! These things are straight up when open and there is zero problem getting in and out.

HOWEVER, I've hit a little snag...part of my weatherstripping on the door is rubbing the very back edge of my finder and it will rub the paint off. Before I just go cutting on the part that's rubbing, I want to see if anyone has had this problem, and if so what you did. It's only about about 4 to 6 inches on the bottom third of the front part of the door (part facing the fender).

What I was thinking, was to just cut the small part that rubbing the top edge of finder when opening off, and add some flat, black weatherstripping to the door jam to make up for the lack of seal. But please let me know if there is a better way. Thanks.

extra Phil, if that's yoru car in your avatar, your's wouldn't hit because the doors in your pic don't open high enough...looks like they stop before that's even a problem. Mine opens to the point where they are 90* to the finder....take the doors in your pic and keep opening the door to where the door stops vertically over the fender. If you look at the front your door (back of the door being where the suicide door closes on it), that part of the weather stripping is rubbing on a very small part of the finder that's facing it. Any ideas? I don't have pics at the moment, out of town at the moment. I'll try to attach some pics when I get back.

Thank you Missy. I appreciate that, I just sent him a PM.

Let's see some pics.

Why not just use grease on the rubber?

no cutting.

ok well what if you get some of that "clear bra" stuff they have for front bumpers to prevent cracks and chips and whatnot. you could get a small piece like the ones intended for headlights and just cut it to the right shape that you need. hell, maybe even layer a few of them to give extra protection..
