I bought chicken wire from Home Depot, spray painted it black, used fasteners on the top end (because you can't see the top), and used "fusion" (some type of heavy duty glue) on the bottom half.

It's actually tougher than you might think. I watched the shop do mine and the original body glue they used didn't hold. The front gets too warm and driving at high speeds causes the glue to lose it's hold and the bottom of the grill can slip out. You have to make sure to use SUPER DUPER HEAVY DUTY glue. The stuff that he used the second time around had the hold strength of cement and dried in 90 secs--watch out for those fingers. :p

You also have to cut the material larger than the opening in order to wrap around the edges to ensure the opening is completely covered with grill.

I bought the chicken wire but the shop did the installation. It took them an entire afternoon or so with cutting it properly and installing in front of the fog lamps, spray painting, drying, etc. I'd say let them do it.
