it said ill have to drill holes it the bumper. it also said i would have to loop two zip ties together then i would have to loop that around a screw head. it just doesnt sound good. does anyone reccommend a grill kit for the rx8? i really want one...but a nice one. thanks

I ordered them a few days ago. I'll let you know how easy/hard it was after I install them.

its not a bad kit if you don't have fogs, i have fogs on mine and shaping the grill to fit was the longest part of the process, it came out nice, just the only place you are supposed to drill is for the bottom grill, if you do just the sides and top you don't need to drill.

This kit is nice, if you want the front grill covered as well.

if not, do a search for DIY screens.

Can get all the material from home depot. I did mine and it ran $8.

What i did like about the material i used was that it can be formed for better support around the openings.

What i didnt like about the material i used was it is sharp (should flatten it with something heavy) and the bottom screen catches leaves. (bitch to wash)

See below for my version (pics included)

hey thanks for helping me to decide on these kits. i read the directins and it scared me. they talked about double check and triple check your measurments, if you dont drill in the right spot you'll go thru the bumper. that made me very very cautious about doing this. im fairly mechanically inclined. i have access to lots of tool. but i cant afford to have unnecissary repair work done to my car.

Another Option

There is another option out there that does not require removal of the bumper or drilling. See attached link:

I recently bought these and installed them. I think the y work great and look pretty good. I would have prefered if they would have been powder coated black (to match the center grill), but all in all I am satisfied with this option.
