Help with NEW Front Bumper!!
I purchased a 2005 Black Cherry Shinka in September after wanting an RX8 for some time. I have been on the forums browsing but I am just only now registering because I have run into a problem.
Someone backed into me and to make a long story short, their insurance company has agreed to replace the front bumper. The body shop which the local Mazda dealer referred me to (here in Houston, TX), told me that I have the option of purchasing another front bumper in case I didn't want the same shinka one.
The problem is : He says that most bumpers come from molding and is usually a pain to install, and I might not like the end result, and I also might have to pay a few hundred dollars extra just for labor (not including any potential extra charges for the bumper).
I would like to know some any advice for me at this point. Is it smarter to go with the same shinka bumper or should I go with what I actually want, and get something more aggressive looking? Also, if possible, does anyone have any recommendations for a good looking (like the veilside, mazdaspeed, or similar) front bumpers that are fairly cheap and have a reputation to be easier to install?
Thanks in advance!

most authentic aftermarket bumpers fit pretty well, all have issues where the clear corners are located though. If your looking for something cheap then most likely its up in the air as to how it will fit and you will have to pay for more labor to get it fitted properly

Most "GOOD" name brand Aftermarket companies have bumpers that fit 100%.
At least I know Fujita Engineering and Knight Sports fit 100%.
Mazdaspeed will also fit 100%.
But in your case, the other insurance company will only offer you a used bumper with paint job. So hmm if you really want to go for aftermarket say, Mazdaspeed bumper. prepare to pay at least 6-700 extra for the price difference.
