D.I.Y. underglow help
"FLAMESUIT ON"
OK First off I am not looking for opinions on how it looks. I dont care if you guys think it is rice. hell if it is done correctly and not turned on nobody can even tell if they are there! so I am not looking for opinions I have done a search and found lots of OPINIONS about it, but I am looking on HOW TO INSTALL only. so for the people who have installed them how did you mount them? There are no good places for the mounting brackets that I can see. ANY INFO ON INSTALLING IS MUCH APPRECIATED! ANY PERSONAL OPINIONS IS NOT!!!!!

I think it might depends on what type of system you are using. The LED systems /should/ be smaller, so you could mount them more liberally. I've not really looked under the car yet.
One of the guys at the OC meet has them. Maybe you can see them at SevenStock?

I'm not sure in everywhere else, but in Alabama, you are allowed to have side runner courtesy entry lights. I don't know if underglow kits count, but that may be a loophole there.
I think they are illegal because they may be distracting to other drivers. They are illegal to have on while driving. AFAIK, it's perfectly legal to have them on your car, and legal to run them when the car is not on on the road.

Oh, yeah. I didn't know your screen name. Cool. You and IBFubar should talk. He came to the Fullerton unofficial-weekly-thursday meeting. Drop by next Thursday if you have time. There is a thread about it in the West forums if you haven't seen it yet.

The basis for branding it illegal? From what I know, they mention something about "Perpetrating a government vehicle or emergency vehicle". The only lights you could put on your car is white. So if you have white underglows and white other accent lights, Cops can't pull you over.
Kinda weird IMO. I always thought the basis for making it illegal is how it distracts other drivers (especially the lookie-lous)
I hate those wiper lights (snake eyes) though coz those LED lights are directed towards the front and they are not just plain glowing. LED lights are directional and if you are facing a vehicle that has them up front, it is very distracting.
