I've seen this question asked a few times, but never found anything that answered it for me...

I purchased a used '04 RX-8 and I love it. Funnest car to drive that I've ever owned. I hope to drive it forever...Anyway, back to the question... since I am not the original owner I don't know what trim package it was and don't know how to determine if I have HID or Halogen capsule low beams on the car. I want to upgrade the lights all around, but this one is the only one I can't determine if I need an H7 or D2S.

If anyone could help me determine which I have I would greatly appreciate it.

 

Do you have a automatic trans and 16" rims? Or, a manual trans without DSC? If either of these questions is yes, you have Halogen headlamps. All the other trim levels had the Xenon lamps.

I have the 6 speed manual with 18s. I'm pretty sure I have the touring package with the optional rear wing and navigation system.
