HID Projector Foglights
I have been wanting to install projector fogs for a long while because the stock fogs distroy the hid cut off line.
I started by taking an extra set of fog light brackets and creating a mounting pad. I owe thanks to kewscott for giving me his brackets when he installed his MS bumper. Thanks!
In the pictures below you can see how I made the bracket.

Pictures, check out the cut off line. The 3rd picture against the wall is only the fogs, the 4th is both headlights and fogs.

The projectors are off of ebay, I had to modify the cut off sheild because the lenth of the HID capsule is different. The bulbs are 6000K HID H3 capsules.

so are these running off of ballasts or? any problems with flickering when you first turn them on? Are they just wired into the factory fog wires? any relays used? I'm looking to do something different with mine as they look ok and everything but they don't seem to really aid my HID's much at night except for maybe lighting up the peripheral a teensy bit. looks great, nice work.

HID systems use only 64% of the power used by the stock halogens (HID 35 watts / Halogen 55 watts). Therefore, there is no reason to use a relay, the stock wiring is good enough.
Converting the HID using the stock reflecters easily yielded twice the light output. Converting the reflectors to projectors increased the lumes by another factor of two. I'd say these fogs produce almost as much light as the stock HID headlights. Remember that these are fog lights, meaning that they are not suppose to shoot really far, but rather to the sides. Also, because I installed a cut off sheild they wont blind other drivers.
Did this help?

Well, if I had done it like this from the start, I could do everything for about 300 bucks. Thats including the HID ballast and bulbs.
But since it was a never ending project i spent more. I first was going to try and retrofit a extra set of RX8 projectors. But I gave up on that because it was too hard to keep water out. When I bought these projectors I had to buy different bulbs. I also bought 2 different colors to play with. 8k and 6k.
Total cost was 300
(ballast, bulbs, wire, projectors)
+
Stuff I didn't need because I could not make up my damn mind.
6K H11 Bulbs $100
6K H3 Bulbs $100
RX-8 Projector $75
$575- ouch

I feel you bro. I want to do the something very similar. I'm spending alot of time on HIDPlanet.com where I have learned so much already. I picked up an extra pair of headlights and an extra pair of Bosch DS2 projectors. I plan on modifing the projectors in the headlights and retrofitting the projectors into the fogs. I will do a DIY write up and take plenty of pics.
Just some teaser info 1) removing the foreground limiter in the projectors 2) replacing fresnel the lens with a clear pair of lense, will make a world of difference output wise.

These have cut off sheilds installed, so there is no glare from them.

Yeah, thanks.. That's what I was asking. I had found those, but I just didn't know 1. How hard the bulbs are to replace and 2. how close of a color match they are, and I guess 3. What type of H11 would be closest.
