Hood Spacer Mod
#26
Yeah especially mods that people pull out of their asses with no data to back up. If you like the way it looks then by all means, do it. but it just bugs me when people claim it does this and that without data to back it up.

Ugh, I'll pick up an obdII reader within the next couple of weeks and post up the results, for better or for worse. Like I've said time and time again, I believe this modification will only have any positive effect if both the battery box/tray and intake box/tray are removed and the hood is high enough. Anyways, I'll post back here with results. I had the mod for a while but removed it when I picked up a vented hood. After selling the hood, I had a different vented hood on order but that all fell flat on it's face... I guess we'll see what happens? My car, compared to stock, seemed to have noticeable lower bay temp but I do have a couple other things done.
Oh, and you would have to enjoy wasting money to actually purchase a "kit" to do this.

I know this thread is old, I did this mod to my previous vehicle (1992 turbo 1.6 Nissan sentra/sunny) and you could see the steam coming out of the engine towards the windshield. I'm guessing it might do something like that on an 8, but as previously said, would need to remove things from the bay like air-box etc...
Hope this helps on future readers (people who use the search before doin s**t)

not to mention this is a great safety hazard... sorry to chime in however a mate had his bonnet spaced on his FC and had a head on impact... half the windshield slid through the A pillar and rested ontop of the dash... any faster, it would've taken his head off!
