i painted my own emblems but i forgot how... lol

im trying to help my friend do his but cant seem to get it to wokr...
we tried...

sand
primer
sand
paint

sand
paint

and everytime it cracks or peals... any one know speciifically how to do it? also its by rattle can... two diff brands first sanded with 220 then 400
help?

So far that's all I've found. No DIY on painting them that I could find.

LOL Yeah I knew cgrx did his so I just did a search of his posts and came up with that. I could've sworn I saw a DIY for painted emblems but never did find one.

 

yeah i read that one but its kinda broad.. like what grit sand paper... and like when i did that it pealed.. anyone know why?

 

if it peeled you would needa lower grit. did you primer it as well?

 

it might be too damp outside as well, high humidity will jack with paint no matter how much you prep it.

 

yes. 220 primer 400 paint... should i even sand after primer? beacuse the sandpaper basically takes off the primer any who...

 

i have cgrx's black emblems now. haha, he gave me everything but the "rx8" emblem, i still either need to do that one or get someone to paint me that one. Either way, i'm going all black emblems now. haha
