How to tell a Mazdaspeed spoiler from a replica?
Hi, i just picked up a (supposedly) genuine Mazdaspeed spoiler off of a guy, he claimed he did not have the paperwork, becuase he got it as a dealership option,or installed at the dealership, and he lost the proof of it. Is there anyway to tell if its a fake or genuine other then the fitment? it fits great. theres just no part # or anything, im hoping i ddnt get screwed. and if i decide to sell it i want to know for a fact that its real mazdaspeed part. thanks in advance. and if i somehow missed a thread with my question asked sorry, i been searching and couldnt find anything. again thanks, kyle

I wouldn't mind buying a replica MS wing, because the authentic is quite expensive. Anyway, i don't have an MS wing, but someone who has the authentic MS wing might give you the answer, sorry...

I have an authentic MS Spoiler and the bottom isn't perfect flush, there's a lil gap, but it's mostly because I didn't have it re drilled, it's just in the OEM spoiler's holes.
The easiest way (if you have the tools) is to remove the bracket and inside the spoiler, you should see a QSEA number on one of the sides another should say ABS I believe.
& yes the brackets and hardware is a key giveaway.

Thanks! I'm sure I have a replica, no numbers, abs, and fiberglass brackets. Oh well, it was worth the risk, under 250 shipped. at least it fits great. Thanks a lot, and hopefully this thread may save someone else from getting jipped.. thanks a lot everyone

Genuine Hardware
Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone here know where I can buy replacement hardware for the MS wing brackets. I noticed yesterday I'd lost one set of screw and nut on the bracket. I did a bit of search but no luck so far.
I checked the other ones and 2 out of the three sets were loose, too. Luckily I'd only lost one set, but I really would like to replace it with legit parts. Any leads will be appreciated! Thanks.

here are the differences;
fake- fiberglass, brackets are manufactured/ , set screw hole in bottom lip is just a dimple, fitment issues. you didn't pay a lot for it.
real- abs, part number inside, brackets are higher quality (hard to explain), set screw hole in bottom lip is collared for button head bolt.
do some searching for the hardware list, and just go to a bolts store and buy them in stainless steel.
