I purchase a kit from ebay! Real Stories
OK so after searching the threads, I see a lot of people telling everyone not to buy a body kit off ebay. but no one ever says if they did. It is always a second hand story about crappy fitments.
Does anyone have a real life story where they purchase a kit for their rx8 from ebay?
Give us the good and the bad!
Please do not hijack this thread with your " my best friend bought this kit from ebay" we want real buyers.

The problem with the Ebay kits are that they are not specific to the vehicle, you can tell by the piping pics. Not to mention the no name Chinese turbos they come with. You will spend more in the long run, trust me. It may be cheaper but still a lot of money to throw away if it doesn't fit.

Ebay is a great way to get cheap stuff. Cheap has more than one application in this sense.
I bought 2 things, both were what I expected for the price.
The Catch Can is a metal can, with fittings and a way to see if something is inside. It does what I want, is no where near the prettiest, but, if I barf oil through either of the 3 options, it goes in the can, not the intake.
The grounding kit is a great way to get the necessary parts for a nice grounding kit. I pull tested the connectors, and they were loose. I hit them with the vice grips, they were tight. I could not buy that much wire, or the connectors, for half the price anyplace else, let alone the necessary battery connection hardware. I did tell the vendor about the issue. His response floored me. He offered me an RMA, a free shipping label, and an apology. He was filling out the form to send me another one when I told him I fixed it and it was already on the car. I told him not to bother.
Oh yeah, in both cases I could have gotten better directions from just about any 3rd grade class, but I did not need them. I used the MM grounding kit threads to lay that one out, and several threads for the catch can. The grounding kit thread is referenced in my $100 thread below.
Ebay is fine, just realize that while there are occasional good deals, there is no magic turbo kit for $99.99.

I'm currently considering purchasing the "appearance package" for my 8 off ebay. Tried to find another place, but no one seems to have any in Phantom blue (and I believe that it's a hard color to paint match, and there aren't too many good paint shops around here!). I'll keep you posted...

I purchase from ebay my mazdaspeed front bumper replica, is made of polyurethane and the fitmen is 7/10 because where the side marker goes is really bad, but I also got a mazdaspeed spoiler from a seller overseas. And the fitment is 9/10, almost perfect...

What is your point? That occasionally stuff you get off of ebay for cheap is good? If so, then yes, you are right. I bought a $600.00 Fluidyne oil cooler for $150.00. I have gotten some great deals on Ebay.

my point
My point is I would like to hear some real life stories about kits from ebay. It seems everyone on the forums is always commenting about crappy fitment or cheap materials but they are not the ones with the kit.
Surely someone on this forum has bought a kit from ebay!

The online thing ive ever bought on ebay was my appearance package from azparts express. Came (LOL) within a week and everything was perfect condition. Communication was good and price was even better. But that being said not all vendors will be liek this and you have to do a bit of research to find out who are and who arent.

Rotary, I too bought the OEM lip and side skirts from AZ parts express. They were a perfect fit.
My big question was about bodykits. Everyone has a good and bad story about something they purchase from ebay!
