impressions of an ebay OEM-style spolier
So, after a little hesitation, I got one of those ebay kits with a knockoff OEM-styled spolier. In case anyone is curious, the one I got is this: (please note I have no affiliation with the seller)....

For $120 shipped, I thought it was worth a shot...
I was pleasantly surprised with the speed of the shipping. I ordered Tuesday at 10pm, and it arrived on Friday (although I was gone by then... I went home for the weekend). I came back tonight, found it sitting in the hallway, and decided that now would be a goot time to start drilling holes in my new car...
Installation was pretty simple, you drill 3 holes on each side of your trunk (they provide little plastic stripts that help you line everything up properly. You put them in the spolier, put the spoiler on your trunk, then once you are satisfied with the placement, tape the strips down and lift the spoiler out. You then use the holes in the strips as templates for drilling. Use a small bit first (actually, I gave the bit a couple light hammer blows to "center punch" beforhand), then use the small holes as guides for the proper-sized bit.
All the mounting hardware was provided - bolts and washers, to match the nuts moulded into the spoiler itself. It fit on nice and tight. I only used two of the mounting points per side (so 4 bolts out of 6 total), since the 3rd would have required me to drill through the part of the trunk that has two layers of sheet metal. I will see how well the thing holds (feels solid right now), and how well the weather seal sticks, with only 2 bolts per side. I also need to stop by the parts store and get a small can of paint to protect the new holes from rust...
Anyway, enough chit chat, here's the final result:

Sorry for the quality, took this in a rush... I will get daylight pics when I get a chance...
So, after like 5 hours of ownership, highly recommend this kit to anyone (at least, for TiGray, can't vouch for the others.... they use the Mazda paint codes thou, so it should be a very close match since our cars are still young).

Kris: They aren't as bad as they look in the picture... I had to sacrifice alot of detail to get the colors to come out close to what they should be. Will take better shots in _daylight_. I am putting LM22's on this week anyway... Waiting for the ice racing season!!!
chrism: I think the TiGray looks seriously hot, but it needs a few finishing touches to make it _mine_ The *** definitely looked nekkid without something there. I really like the OEM style wing, so on it goes. I am also thinking tint (probably 35% all around, still lookin), maybe clear corners, maybe HIDs (if I can find em cheap), and that'll be it for the exterior, for now... Living in Jersey City = no body kits
Then some audio upgrades... better speakers (not sure about amp, the stock one is fine by me, i prefer to listen to the engine anyway), get XM up in there, maybe a carPC...
By the time I am done with that, I will be able to make an educated decision about performance mods (after having improved my technique at least a little, and getting a better idea of what the car is like). So far, I think one of the first things I am going to do is flywheel, clutch.
As an aside.. I've only had this car for a month and I've already put 2.5k miles on her. At 14.1 cents a mile...

Yes, definitely going to check out some of the meets, I have lots of questions that are better asked in person. Unfortunately I can't make it out for something like that until January... Besides the NE board on this forum, any good place to look for meet info?
