LED bulb swap:

Pros:

Cons:

- sucks up your time
Are you saying that the replacement rear backup LEDs are actually less bright? I was wondering whether it was possible to find replacement LEDs that were brighter than the stock bulbs.

From the photos, it seems like it's not as bright as regular bulbs. Looks cool though. Also, LEDs seem directional, like a spotlight, so it doesn't flood the reflectors uniformly, even if there are several in a cluster.

it'd be interesting to do a side-by-side comparison of whether the end result is more light or not.

I have an all LED setup and they are definitely less bright that stock. I can't quantify how much "less," but LED turn signals, for example, are much harder to see than the normal incandescent bulbs. Especially during bright sunlight/daytime hours.
