installed my Mazdaspeed spoiler tonight

pretty easy to do. instructions are very easy to follow. it took less then 2 hours to install and makes a huge difference on the appearance. if you have the means, i strongly recommend buying it....by the way i got it from rosenthal mazda for 803, packing was good. they are great

since you have the factory one it will be very easy. the 2 way tape they have on there didnt hold on the lower spoiler. i have to get some stronger 2 way tape. just take it slow and follow the directions closely

Cool! Can't wait to get them on. Yea I still think it's somewhat pricey for a spoiler, but got to love the look and the quality!

You going to find that the factory spoiler is held on by two sided tape that can be heated up with a hairdryer...but the hard part I found was removing the spoiler from the trunk lid because of the white clips that are each side. I found that bumping the spoiler from the underside with the flat of my palm hlped pry it up.

The MS wing will use two of the existing holes, but will not uuse the third hole (from which the white clips used). Make sure you buy something to plug the holes with something.

Plus you have a good chance that the MS spoiler will not line up properly with the edge of the trunk lid if you're using the stock spoiler's mounting holes. It should but it usually doesn't.
That's one of the main reasons I didn't get the MS spoiler. The other one is that since I have the stock wing for two years, it has been reported that taking it off will likely leave some scuff marks on the trunk that are not covered by the MS wing and can't be removed with buffing.

What did you buy to plug the holes?

I didn't, because I was too anxious to get the wing installed. Just thought I would put that suggestion out because I should have covered the hole. BUt if I were to do it now, I'm thinking one of those clips like the one from the stock wing. Push one of those fasteners back into the hole. There may be someway to reuse the one from the factory wing, but I sort of damaged both of them when removing the stock spoiler.

kwescott, did your MS spoiler line up properly using the stock wing's mounting holes? No gap between the trunk and the base of the spoiler?

Thanks for the tips everyone. One last question, what's the hole size? I was looking for some hole plug online and found something like this

the installation instructions for the wing will tell you what the hole size is (8mm).

Had my spoiler installed over the weekend as well with some help from a friend. Took us appx. 1 hour. I had identical problmes like kwescott, which there's a overlay gap and it's quite noticable. And also there are marks left by the OEM spoilers. We managed to take out most of the marks and we had to enlarge the holes and now my MS spoiler fits close to perfect.

Again, thanks everyone for the info.

I dont have a scanner. I've faxed the stuff to a couple of others who have asked. I could always try taking a digital picture and downloading that to the site.

The issue of the settings is not that exciting to see...basically they recommend the lowest setting for all non MS-kitted 8's...middle setting for MS kit, and last settig for "aggresive" conditions.

I have a virgin trunk and im wondering if it is easy to install the wing yourself instead of bringing it to the shop. and if i bring it to a shop, does anyone know how much would it cost for labor?
