Kaixen HID Kit. Help.

Kaixen HID Kit. Help.
Hey guys/gals. If you've read many of my previous posts, you may already know that I have a Base model 04' rx8. Well...as you all know, the base model doesn't come with HID, or at least mine didn't. I can see well at night, I have a good cut-off also, but i'm looking for brighter and better. I scoured the internet and local Mazda dealerships for a pair of OEM HID headlights and they all gave me RIDICULOUS prices.
Then I was told about Kaixen by one of the members on here. Didn't have much to say but he/she dd provide me with a very helpful link to a thread in the rx7club, explaining most of what I needed to know about these lights.
So, I'm really considering buying the 6000k H4 double Kit (low/high beam) kit {I think that's what it's called} but I figured I'd get some more info. on it from members that have it on their car(s).
For the members that have this installed, What do you think of it? How drastic is the difference between the kit and your regular lights that came with your car (Non-HID)? Are these cheap halogen knock offs or are they worth the money that you spent on them?
I'd appreciate any input, because I have the money to buy. I just want and or need credibility and assurance to back-up the cash.
Thanks in advance :-)

Aftermarket ballast burn out. I've gone through two high end "kits", both failed after 18 months.
Here is a complete oem kit for $175.

These are the same ballast that are in the stock rx8 with HID's.

do you think it's a good idea to buy used ballasts though?? :-/ so if i bought these ballasts and bulbs, would my car's headlight view look like the HID rx-8? Would it be white? because I hate the yellow look! haha

they'll look pretty 'white', just as oem HID's look. I wouldn't worry too much about buying used ballasts. Not the ideal way to go but for that price, you can't really go wrong.

oh really? so the bulbs that are in that ebay sale are good for what i'm looking for then? I was going to say Silverstars but i'll def. take your word for it in this situation. Thanks for the help!

ok, so I just payed the seller on Ebay for the ballasts and bulbs so i'm pretty excited about that. Just need to know now how much the adapter will cost me and will that be the only other thing that I need?

Also, make sure you put those ballast in a place where they will not get wet. I don't know about the halogen rx8 lights, but the HID version has a compartment under them where the ballast can be mounted and kept water free.

yeah i'll def. look into that! you said I needed d2s to h7, and the one on ebay is the other way around, would that still work or should I keep looking? I mean it is only like 30 bucks after shipping but that's 30 bucks I can put towards the next Rotary Rasp L.E.D. product! haha

hey, would anybody be able to post some pics of how OEM HIDs look? I don't know if the search is down or what, but I keep getting no results for what i'm looking for.
So if you have any pics of just your OEM HID lights on at night and or late evening, it'd be very appreciated, if posted.
Thanks!
