Lambo Doors on an 8?
Has anyone done or seen this on the 8 yet? I have seen an RX-7 with them and it looks really cool; however, I am trying to imagine it on an 8 with the back suicide doors. Either it will look very original or very strange.

My RX-8 already has Lambo doors - the front doors are exactly like the doors used on the new Lamborghini Gallardo, and the older Miura, Jarama, Jalpa, Urraco, Espada, and many more.

HAHAHA!!
I know that *I* want to remove my perfectly functional standard doors to replace them with some broke-*** looking wannabe-exotic car doors. That prob'ly have sub-par hinges and won't close properly, not to mention making it a royal pain in the *** to get into/out of the car.
Why why WHY do stupid, pointless "modifications" like this exist? To suck the last remaining dime from Captain Tasteless's "dope-ride" budget?

I love Lambo doors, but I probably wouldn't do it myself (I'm not all bling-blingy like that), but I'd have to agree with Elara. The structural integrity is almost definitely going to be severely compromised. Not that big a deal for a show car, but it would probably destroy the car for track purposes.

I wouldn't mind Delorean wing doors... not sure on the 8, but eventually if I have another car I wouldn't mind. :P
The Lambo doors is interesting if there is enough clearence to get out of them comfortably without having to duck under. Gord can you take a pic of your door fully opened? also open the back door please.

I have talked with alot of company's about doing the conversion......
There was a 350Z with it done at the import show off car show last month! They put a 3" bracket, which is very thick and stable.
Also the door opens normally.....
From the outside you would just lift the handle and pull the door away from the car about 6" and then lift the door up....I even started "YANKING" on the door when it was open to see how stable it was...and I was only able to move it a tiny bit when I was pulling the crap out of it!

Vertical Doors Inc. sell a good hinge, I have them on my RX8. They arn't cheap but NEVER go with a cheap set as you will regreat it very soon when they malfunction or break. Go with a direct bolt on kit only and not a weld on kit. You get what you pay for like anything and with this type of mod it pays to to go with what cost more. Good luck!!!!!
