Large gap between bumper and hood?
I just got my car back from the body shop to repair my bumper. Debadged it too, I think it looks pretty good.
Once I got home I noticed the gap between the hood and bumper was at least twice as thick. What could of caused this? Did they tight the bumper on incorrectly?

i dont think that the case, look right under the headlight, there are what seems to be clips where you have the put the front bumper on to lift it a little so that the gap between the hood and the bumper will be removed. (this is just my hypothesis), i have the same issue and every time i wash my car, i see those metal clips and correlate it with the gap between my hood and bumper. you should notice a slight gap below the headlight as well.

Same problem? Mine isn't that bad, it's just once I took off my body kit off and put the oem back on, I just put it on in a hurry basically without making sure that there wasn't a gap.. So, I just left it alone until later!

i had the same problem, when i got my 8 back from the body shop after installing the mazdaspeed front end, there was no problem at all, i removed the bumper to install the mazdaspeed cai then when i reinstalled it, bam, gap. never had too much of an issue with that, been pretty lazy to try to fix it until i saw that post with some instructions that solves the problem. but im selling my mazdaspeed front end soon and don't know if i should fix it now. haha

lift the hood, pull the plastic air plate that's at the top center between the front bumper cover and engine bay, there is a plastic rivet and pair of screws on each side that serve to secure the top center portion of the front bumper to the chassis, loosen the screws and pull the plastic rivets, the holes are enlarged to allow that portion of the bumper to moved in/out, set to proper position and tighten screws then check the fit, once in place then reverse procedure

what he said. i just had my bumper off yesterday to install cold air. there is 4 screws. just loosen them and then slightly tighten one on each side so when you move the bumper around it stays. now close your hood and position the bumper where you want it. pop the hood again and then tighten all 4 screws down.
