Let's see your plasti-dipped parts!!

Hey all! We plastidipped the emblems, door pillars, and eyelids on my 8 today, and wanted to share the pics. Not so sure about keeping the eyelids though. I was also curious if you guys have dipped any parts on your car(s)? This stuff is easy to use, looks great and is VERY easy to remove. Show your stuff!

Why do the pillars aren't they already black?

When I first plastidipped my front emblem I had to do it twice because the first time I rushed and put way too much on. The second time I took almost 3 hours I think of going out every 20-30 minutes and spraying a very light coat on them and it worked awesome. On the front it looks like you had one drip forming which you can avoid by going super light every time it probably took 4 coats before it was even starting to turn solid black

The pillars are black, but they were etched from acid rain and looked nasty. There's the before and after pictures of the pillars, even though it not the same sides.

I didn't have any problems with doing any of it. The end results look awesome!

Won't be harmless after the plastidip gets removed from the $1,000.00 head lights after it has been on there for a while.

plasti dipping faded s1 exhaust shrouds might not be a bad idea if it will stick to that material

It would melt off in two seconds. It really doesn't hold up well at all to the elements.

Plasitdip is easier to remove than a sticker, I know I guy who did his entire WRX in it for a while. Came right off without issue, paint looked just fine when it came off.

I bet it looked like *** up close. I have seen it done a few times and It's one of those things that looks good online and looks okay for minor tiny stuff but anything done on a large scale always looks like ***.

There is a thread around here that explains exactly what to do it was helpful. Make sure you have some wooden or plastic toothpicks to pick out the small parts.

I think for emblems plastidip looks very good but for most other things it might be a little weird looking. I like the textured look it gives the emblems if you spray it properly.

I did the inside of my side skirts to protect against rock chips. I wish I would have done it sooner but oh well. If I get them repainted I will do this again.

I recommend not buying more than you need and being left alone. All you end up with is my wheels.
