Easy to remove on a whole car? and it looks ok in pics, like **** in person. I have seen two plastidipped cars up close and a few with plastidipped parts and all of them looked bad. maybe on emblems and smaller stuff but on larger pieces up close it never looks good. It's like spray painting your car.

All of the people who rave about it have never seen it done on a larger scale in person.

It's ridiculous how easy it is to remove.

I have seen it done well on one car that's local but just like a paint job it's all about the prep work.

Well I have seen it being removed on wheels and it wasn't so easy to remove. I can only imagine removing it from all the crevices on a whole car. I do think it can be done properly but not by the average schmuck with no experience watching a how to video on the internet. To me it's just like painting, and we all know that a of body shops even have a hard time shooting a decent paint job.

I know someone that plastidipped an S5. Looked like ****. There were spots where it would look and feel like 50 grit sand paper. Tried pealing it off, no luck. Used a pressure washer and that worked for about 90%. The door jams are completely covered with plasti-dip and it's all over crevices that can't be reached but can be seen. Fail.

Plastidip=pure ghetto look. I'd rather see an unbadged RX8 than one subjected to this type of treatment!

Why are you so passionate about hating on some temporary rubber paint? I am genuinely interested in knowing. I look at these pictures and it made me excited to spray my personality all over my sexy car. I know I can peal it off. I want people to look at it. Sometimes ghetto is fun to drive. It is like wearing a graphic T-shirt with a funny message on it. You don't have to get a tattoo to tell your friends it is Beer:30.

9k, I have a lot of respect for you, but keep your negativeness to yourself man. This thread is dedicated to plasti-dipped parts. There are plenty of plasti-dipped cars that look fantastic in person. If you take the time to do it right, in a controlled environment, and do a 100% on the preperation (the most important part...) then it will look good and come off easy. People that complain about it not coming off either didn't prep it, didn't spray enough coats on in the first place, or they didn't try removing it correctly. It literally peals off... I've seen my friends vette and it looks incredible. He had to redo the hood but once he got it down, it looked perfect.

9k I'm not too sure what plastidip did to you in your past life that makes you hate it so much, but what I can gather from these forums is if you love your car that's all that matters. I've gotten nothing but compliments on the white on blue from people. I can't afford anything else, so plastidip let me personalized my 8. This car is expensive for my budget, but I fell in love with it and decided to choose it as my first car, which at 18, I financed and insure myself and no I've never recieved a dime of help from anyone. So the moral of the story is, I love and baby my 8, and wouldn't want any other car to replace it, isn't that what these forums are all about?

And almost everyone goes for a blacked out look, I decided to be unique, isn't that kind of why we chose this car in the first place?

Plasti dip sucks, it's my opinion, deal with it (or don't IDGAF).

It looks tacky in person (always), doesn't always peel off as easily as you noobs think, and has no place on a proper sports car.

I think this 50% of this thread is full of your negative comments . And like I said early, it does come off EASILY if done correctly

I think your grammar is horrible. If you want to try and make your point clearly then you really should read what you type before you click the reply button.

You love Plastidip, I get it. Plenty of people (ricers, domestic ricers, hood rats, etc.) like underglow neons, spray painted factory wheels, knock off aero parts, stick on fender vents, stock on faux hood scoops, and fake carbon fiber pieces too.

Why don't you shove that 2x4 up a little farther.

fwiw he only has 13 posts in this thread of 96 posts. So mathematically speaking his posts account for only 13.5% of this thread.

Now I know what is really on your mind. That explains the addiction to Plastidip..........

Well poor grammar usually goes hand in hand with poor math skills

I don't get why you must be so negative all the time, 9krpmrx8. Criticism is always good, but you take things to the personal level with people which is really quite inappropriate. We're all 8 owners here - and not all of us are in our midlife crisis stage of our lives and can afford to build our cars to your liking.

I'm going to be dipping my rear emblems, fender strakes, and Mazdaspeed spoiler metal riser thing (??) black to match the matte black paint scheme I'm doing on my MS kit (rather than gunmetal). I dipped my emblems on my last car and it's a great look imo. I'll take pics soon

I believe 9k just thinks it looks bad and raises the level of rice purveyed by 8s. Kinda like two-tone paint jobs and unpainted carbon fiber hoods.
