Looking for some input

I own a sunlight silver stock 8 w/ black stock wheels. I also own a sign & graphics shop.

I am thinking it's time to do some sort of full or partial vinyl wrap but cannot decide what to do.

Here are ideas that I have, please give ideas if you have any...

1) Full car matte black (sort of expensive, and seams like everyones doin it now)

2) Full car matte white? Haven't seen or heard of this much. At least not on 8's. Afraid it's a little to plain though.

3) 2-tone black and silver with just roof and top half of doors black. Basically the whole cabin black.

4) 2-tone black and silver with the whole top half of the car black from the sharp line running down the car and up. Including trunk and hood.

5) Just the rear doors gloss black or matte black. Sort of the Audi R8 look.

Hmmm never thought of matte black / gloss black.

After looking at pictures, I am sort of leaning towards matte white.

i vote not the r8 door look. it's too 'copy-cat'.

otherwise, matte black or matte white. i personally wouldn't do the 2-tone (ignore my forum name!).

Lol that's funny. I saw your name and immediately assumed you were going to say go two toned.

I agree on the back door idea. It is more my laziness suggesting that than anything.

Two toned will be the easiest/cheapest... but I really think matte white will look awesome.

Only problem is that my car is stock. I am afraid it won't look as good as it could if it had a body kit and was a little more pimped out.

What do you guys think? Good idea? Or bad idea?

I wanted to make some sort of a spin off of the CD/Monster STI that made sense for a Rx8.

Can't decide if I like it or not :-/ Figured some fellow rotary peeps might help me decide.

^very bad idea.

Keep it simple - go matte white n' get it lowered nicely w/some decent wheels n' kit.

Better to be classy than flashy nowadays. That is unless you drift often.

Would you happen to own forza 3 or GT? I always mention this to people thinkin' about a custom paint job becuase it's kind of an easier way to get an idea of what you're gonna be getting yourself into. If it looks shitty on the game - it'll probably look worse in real life. The main point i would try n' remember is that your 8 is your daily driver (assuming of course) n' whatever you pick you're gonna have to live with for a while.

Unfortunately I don't have either game. That is a good point though.

The good thing is that I own the sign shop. So if I do something smaller, like the above idea, I can take it off when I get tired of it. A full matte white wrap on the other hand is a bit more pricey, time consuming, and permanent.

Yes it is my daily driver. Just tired of it being so plain, that's all.

i have an SS too. I started off small by lowering, adding clears (pretty much a necessity) then moved onto wheels n' lip kit.

IMO, i would hold off on the vinyl wrap until your car doesn't look so stock.

That was my fear in doing the complete wrap. Too stock to look good.

I actually covered my corners with a charcoal vinyl. Looks sick and they are still functional. I actually like it more than clears.

I know I'll get crazy amounts of **** for this, but I actually have charcoal metallic rally stripes on it right now, which, contrary to popular belief actually look pretty sweet. Better than down the middle racing stripes. That's for sure.

post pics of your car, a local guy here has a Bb with stripes and it looks good with his rims. I like the rotary logo with you company name but lose the orange. It will definitely get you business if people can see the quality of your work.

Just a phone pic... but it gives you the idea. Probably should have made it go all the way down, but trying to keep it straight over the curves of the bumper would have been hellish.

Not feeling the stripe, looks unfinished. Maybe if it went all the way down.

Ya... I wish I could have gone all the way down, but with vinyl, it would be really hard to make it look straight.

At any rate... I am ready for something new. Just can't figure out what to do.
