Matte carbon Seibon hoods?
Saw this on eBay. Are they just wet sanding good hoods? No mention of this on Seibon's site.

Siebon says Dry carbon but thats thier market scheme, if they were true prepreg dry carbon they would be 3 times that expensive,, and yeah Ebay is always a truthful source... Its the same thing,,, Seibon would go out of business if they were in the prepreg business, the Seibon(on site) is a matte wet carbon material...

The seller makes it clear they aren't the dry carbon. There are other sellers of those at $1800ish. I was just curious if this was a new finish or a little wet sand job.

TopGear8 has a normal hood: https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...6&postcount=54
If you read the thread or the auction you'd see the seller is VERY explicit that this is NOT dry carbon.

TopGear - where did you get it? Odd that your sig pic looks like the gloss version.
Here was the sellers response:
"these were a bit of a experimental for seibon to test the waters on the market. they only made a few to see if there was a demand for them. the product is entirely done by seibon all the way to the packaging. the UV protection coat is still there and carries the warranty. the weight is the same as the gloss finish hoods they make also. it's a cheaper alternative to the real dry carbon that seibon makes"
