Its called dry carbon and they get the matte finish by spraying it with a matte clearcoat. They dont wetsand it.

Thanks for the reading the thread before posting! You also have all of your facts incorrect.

Dry carbon isn't a look or a matte finish coat. It's the part (usually if not always) made in an autoclave that sucks out any excess resin to make the lightest damn part available, also sucking it to the mold/buck to make a perfect part. This hood is not dry carbon and that's been beaten to death already. This is wet carbon (hand-laid), ie. what resin is put on, stays on: more weight, not as perfect conforming to the mold/buck.

This true, but I do have the dry carbon one and it is crazy light compared to the stock hood in my own opinion. They are effing expensive though.

Ive got a matte hood but what do you all use on it in regards to polish or wax or dont you bother.
