They did say in the ad that it was three way adjustable and I think that this echos the MS spoiler in it's design.

Have faith. From many orders placed over the Internet using UPS, especially those going freight from CA, their tracking seems to freeze as soon as it is processed at their sorting facility. You'll probably see something about it's arrival to the hub nearest you either tonight or tomorrow morning right before it goes on the truck for delivery. Even my order which is coming from CA to IL via DHL Shipping (a major contender with UPS and Federal Express) has what I am suposed to get on Wednesday, still at their processing center.

Been there, done that am doing it too and checking it a few times a day. As far as the holes go, yeah, keep the water out. Believe it or not, I might suggest the use of electrical tape on the outside. If you use it, make sure you apply it dry. Then again, maybe you should use duct tape since you have a Sunlight Silver....:D J/K You are getting the rain we got and are still experiencing that we got all weekend here. I'm getting ready to start building an RX-8 shaped ark here. :D As far as the stock spoiler, I do not have a stock spoiler, I have this aftermarket one the dealership put on mine sometime before I even looked at it and told me that it was stock. They lied. The one I have isn't even the same shape or style as the stock but it looks nice, none the less. However, wait a few weeks and I'll probably order a replica just like yours, you guinea pig you.

The real pitty there is that you paid $730 for something that can be made, painted and installed for 1/3 the cost.

Come on now ... don't berate the guy ... we've all paid more than we'd like for our toys ... and I see you too have a nice list of premium priced items in your sig.

Let's just wait and see how the quality of these MS replica spoilers turns out. We already know the quality of the original MS spoiler.

Personally, I'd rather see what the quality is a few months and a few 1000 miles down the road. What it looks like out of the box is telling ... what it looks like after being long-term road tested tells much more. I have my doubts the manufacturer has thoroughly tested this replica ... but who knows ... maybe its an outstanding value.

Speaking of berating...read his words first. "Ha I pitty you all..." Sorry if I am wrong about this but, it read rather condescendingly to me.

As far as my sig goes, some of the items were over-priced in my opinion and the others I either bought used from other board members or fabricated myself.

If an aftermarket company makes other items of decent quality and materials, only time will tell. Regardless, whatever the outcome is, I will report the facts and give a review of what the replicated products are be they good or bad. If bad, then it serves as a warning to others who may want to take a chance, if good, then the benefits of our exploration can be reaped by those who follow. This is what this board is really about, it's about sharing experiences and information, it shouldn't be about bragging rights.

Actually Monte tends to make posts like that.. he was doing that before he even got the car that his parents purchased for him. He was asking for this and that, and asking which part to modify his car. Of course he's going to "pity" us when he's not the one paying for it. Maybe someday he will make it to the real world and realize that the rest of us have bills to pay, mortgage, etc etc, and then maybe he wont "pity" us as much.

LOL Youu still waiting? I would have camped out at the UPS hub and stopped every truck leaving the facility until they gave it to me. :D Actually, since I have shipped a bunch of stuff and if I found out something had arrived at my local sorting facility but was not out on the truck for delivery, I would usually go there after work and let them know and they would find it for me and take it out of the delivery sort area and hold it up front. They would tell me to come back after they officially closed (6:30 or 7:00 PM) and I would walk in a side door and they would let me have it after I signed for it, naturally. At Fed Ex I would sometimes find out that they got the container in the day befoe scheduled delivery, I would just stop by and let them know it's scheduled for the next day and ask that they hold it at the office so I could stop by and pick it up as soon as they opened in the morning. This only worked for me with these two companies because I work nearby and can drive past them either on my way to or from work.

Have faith, it will come in looking good. :D It will have decent directions, it will have all the necessary hardware and it will prompt a whole bunch of us to swamp the website with orders.

I received the MS Style side skirts today from a company mentioned earlier in this thread.

First Impressions and plans.

If I were to expect to be able to have this painted, bolt it on and stand back and marvel in it's beauty, I would have to say that I would be very disappointed. However, knowing that even a genuine part takes some work and adjustment to install, on a scale of 1 - 10 with the higher the number being the best and representing a genuine part, I would have to say this MS Style side skirt ranks about a 6.

There is no hardware or instructions included. The normal hardware that is included with the genuine parts will have to be fabricated and/or purchased at a local auto parts store. This hardware I am referring to are the fasteners and double sided foam tape that is used to keep edges tight to the body. The hangers are made of the same material as the skirts instead of metal as in the genuine MS parts.

The surface is coated with a white jell cast and is relatively smooth with just a couple of noted defects. I will need to use a dremel tool to take a couple of small blemishes off of the recessed line that goes down the side of the side skirt on one of the sides and do some minor sanding to prepare for painting before installation. The material is of normal strength and thicknes for FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) but I am planning on doing a bit of modification in areas for reinforcement and installation purposes.

There will be photos, that I will include later, as I go through the installation that I will post in a DIY. My main concern is to reinforce or replace the hangers with metal parts, to reinforce those areas that are around the hangers and fasteners that will take most of the stress and to fill the cavity that is between the outer wall of the side skirts and the body of the rocker panels with an expanding foam so as to strengthen the structure as a whole and will also help prevent a puncture in the event of something hitting the side skirts very hard. The 3M trim foam double sided tape will have to be applied to the edges. In addition to this tape, I will also be incorporating rubber washers with the hangers to lessen the shock and vibration. I am certain I can make these work though it will be a bit labor intensive.

Final word? If you do not have the skills and aren't capable of doing work as such, do not attempt this yourself, have a body shop do this. OR, buy the genuine MS parts.
