I hate that you're trying to sell it for what it cost brand new from Mazdaspeed. BUT I guess if there is no more supply yet there is still demand you can try and sell it for however much you feel like.

As for OP Please keep us updated with pictures on the repair. I am having my Mazdaspeed front bumper repaired now as well.

 

Aren't they around $1,300 unpainted new? That's $1300 painted. Cost around $400 for a dealer to paint the front bumper plus you don't know if the color will match spot on.

There aren't any more available through the Mazda dealership parts network. There might be a non-dealer parts vendor that has one in stock if you are lucky, but you will have to call around and search for it

BTW, the GT bumper is the OE bumper with the Appearance Package air dam/lip

 

I drop it off on Tuesday. They said Friday at the latest. Going to suck because I have to kart the Mazda5 around for the week. I will say that some guy with a base model auto 8 told me that my Mazdaspeed stuff was rice and that my visually stock car was riced all to hell. I thought that was kind of funny.

Does anyone know where to get another front grill for a Ms bumper? Dealer can't get one, of course, and mine is trashed.

 

You can still get primer gray ones from Mazdaspeed Motorsports if you have an account. I just checked and they show the painted ones as NLA, but primer shows its good to go, but on B/O so take that for what it's worth. Just throwing it out there...

 

Ok, I got my car back from the shop on Friday, and it looks fantastic. Unfortunately no pics as I'm supposed to be working right now, but I'll get some up later. They used a plastic welder and it looks great. I had them fill in the emblem holes in the front as well. Overall, I'm happy with the fix, even if I would have preferred to get a brand new bumper out of it. Now I just have to try and locate another center grill. Mine was too bent up to repair. If you guys know of where I could find one, please let me know.

 

Waiting for pics, preferably close-ups of the repaired areas. Did you get any pictures before the bumper was re-installed?

 

Unfortunately no pictures of the bumper off of the car.
They did a great job and repainted the entire front end and blended the hood and fenders.

 

Man, that does look good! Way better than the oem bumper with lip. If you ever buy front mesh and take the bumper back off i would love to see what the repairs look like from the other side. My mazdaspeed bumper is in the shop being repaired now but they aren't using a plastic welder so we'll see...

 

why doesnt mazda make more MS bumpers?

They no longer make it because they hate me and don't want me to have nice things...

I think it is because afaik the MS front bumper won't fit on the S2s. Eventually every part gets phased out. The last MY for a S1 was 08, so that is 5 years old. They just don't see any reason to continue production on an after market part that is a generation old, on a vehicle that has been discontinued.

 

cuz they don't make stuff for car that's no longer sold in the states, soon the Japanese side will stop too.

People like me already gone thru 3 Mazdaspeed bumpers, so it's easy to understand why they're out of stock so fast ...
