MS Side Skirt Installation -- Is this right?

So I had my side skirts installed by my Mazda dealer. They removed my Aero Flares, and then installed my new side skirts. The skirts have an adhesive foam, rather than 3M adhesive tape on the sides. I have attached a picture of the gap that appears on the top of the skirt. Its not really noticable unless you are looking at it. But my question to those of you with the MS side skirts is.... Does yours have this much of a gap? The black foam is more like weather stripping, and by no means are the skirts going to fall off, I just want to know if this is normal. I took it to a local body shop, and they said that when you have skirts like that, it is normal for them to pull apart on longer runs like that. That is why they installed the foam, instead of the 3M tape. I happen to know from personal experience that 3M tape doenst hold up all that well on larger pieces of trim. Thoughts?

I have no gap or any of the foam showing at all. When I pressed the fasteners into the holes drilled from the templates, the fit was very snug. I'm not sure how the other guys that did the MS DIY sideskirts look, so you may want ask for some other opinions.

If you need pics to go back to the dealer with to show them how it is "supposed to look" let me know and I'll send them along.

thank you for pointing that out...this way frank can take the pictures, show the service dept., and get it fixed before Rotary Revolution in Indiana.

Yeah, mine fit a bit more snugly than yours appear to. I installed them myself. See you at RR!
