GO LANDON!
[QUOTE]

Err... SCRATCH THAT! .. i couldn't resist. I went ahead and ordered it! Spoke to owner.. seems real decent and I asked about fitment issues and stuff.. pretty minimal stuff -- nothing a body shop couldn't handle.. should be worth it.. even after the bodywork and stuff.. Plus, I don't drive my 8 during the winter and don't have the dippy chicago roads to worry 'bout.. i'm in the burbs.. hehe I'll post and keep y'all in the loop too..

BTW.. the $599 DOES NOT include grille... just add $34.99

.. gotta find good bodyshop in ILLINOIS... any suggestions?

Do you know what you're going to do with the bumper foam yet, flipstream? Paint, remove, trim, leave as is? I'm kinda torn how I'm going to handle this......Maybe I'll fabricate a billet grill to cover it up...<shrug>

No, the president of my performance shop is currently in Hawaii (lucky bastard), he's going to order it when he gets back. They've set up the account with AAS, though.

I agree with you on the US Spec one, though. That black plastic piece is hideous.

I'll let you know when mine is shipping and keep you posted on my experience with it, if you want to hold off. Note that the EBAY kit is the same kit being sold at www.autoaccessorystore.com, I confirmed it with a representative. Something USA is the parent company of the website, or something like that.

Hi Everyone....Haven't received my kit yet, but it's still within the quoted time frame.

AutoAccessoryStore.com stated it takes 5 - 12 business days from purchase day to SHIP the kit, via UPS. Little longer than I would have liked, hopefully still worth the wait, though.

I'll continue to keep you posted.

Same here, purchase the kit from ebay on 4/8/04. It said it takes 5-7 business days to ship on ebay description. Called today, now they told me it takes 10-12 business days to ship. I don't know, man. The guy who answered the phone is kind of rude. Hope they won't take too long.

When I ordered my front sway from cali it arrived on the sixth day here in NW Burbs. By way of UPS ground. Apparently the size of the box dictates shipping method?

I thought AutoAccessoryStore is located at NY. Why you asking how long it takes to ship from CA to IL? Am I missing something? Yeah, I called them yesterday and was told that my kit was shipped out but they said they don't have a tracking number.

Finally my kits arrived. The quality is not very good, definitely needs a lot of works, but this is what I got for what I paid for. It should take 2 weeks to finish the paint job and everything. I will post some pic after that.

The surface of the kits are kind of rough. It required some polish works before painting. I don't know how strong the material is. It's just regular fiberglass. Since, you live in Orange, I can show my car to you after the paint job and installation are done.

Why is it listed now at 799? I think I might order this kit if it was 599.00 or the stated price Landon_Starr posted.

I'm guessing they were doing a market test w/ the $599 price. With the jump back up to $799, they probably had limited response to the cheaper price and upped the price to ensure mold costs, etc. were covered. With the $599 price it's likely they thought there might be enough purchases (economies of scale stuff) to warrant the cheaper price, but didn't get what they were expecting. You might want to try calling them to see if they'll still offer it at the lower price (claim that you saw their site @ $599)

You can still obtain it on EBAY at the $599 price, too($549 if you're patient). I think their EBAY name is productsfromusa or something like that.

sorry for the late reply. Yes, the kit is kind of flimsy. It is about half of the thickness of the orginal front bumper. I think it will be better if you put on some spray-on fiberglass. My bodyshop is doing that for me, it should take another week to finish.

I agree.. i got my kit yesterday.. needs a bit of work.. it's almost "see through" and some of the edges are rough.. but I'll let my bodyshop do the magic..

See through in places? Sounds scary. Price is right, but... if a good size bug hitting at speed will dent or hole your bumper, is it worth the savings?
