Question MSpeed Wing, Direct Bolt On?

I have the OEM factory spoiler, but I'd like to get the MS wing. I found this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MAZDA...spagenameZWDVW on eBay and was wondering if it uses the same holes as the one I have on now. Also, is this a decent product?

Thanks

I thought it used different holes than the OEM spoiler but I'm really not sure

They have this number on their sale page: 1-877-332-2811

I called but they're not open for another half an hour (8:30am PST)

Someone call and find out for the rest of us wingless bastards.

I don't know about the replicas, but the Mazdaspeed Wing fits the holes from the stock spoiler. the stock spoiler leaves 3 holes on each side, the MS wing uses two of them and cover the 3rd.
However, there has been some cases where the stock spoiler leaves some scratches that will not be covered by the MS wing.

I have an original Mazdaspeed wing and you need to make 4 additional holes in your trunk. The original holes will be covered by the wing (the lower part)

I just got the answer from the eBay vendor selling Mspeed wings.
Anyone can explain what exactly he is saying?

Hi, It is an aftermarket replica of the MazdaSpeed Wing. It is not adjustable like the MazdaSpeed wing, and has metal stands that the original does not feature. The part is not ready to install directly out of the box, it needs to be properly prepped and finished prior to painting and installation.

he means, "This is a piece of crap, but at least we put metal brackets on it, which is good. With a little work, and if you dont mind a few small gaps itll look great and youll have an extra 600 dollars in your pocket from not buying the real MS wing."
no seriously it fits ok it sounds like, if you do a search youll see a few MS replicas installed that look great and have a little gap by the trunk lid. Im also looking at the replica pretty hard, I just really dont want that ricey look and I cant decide if this is whats its going to come off as when people see it on.

Yup, I was one of the first guys to post about that when I made the swap from the OEM wing to the MS wing. I have an entire thread with pics and everything. Do a search for threads started by me and you'll find it. This is true for the true MS wing, I can not speak for alignment with aftermarket wings.

I have only seen one other MS style wing, a replica...and fitment was not reliable.

there are three holes to be drilled for each side. If it didn't come with instructions, or a template....it may be a bit hard as you may not be able to get the wing aligned properly....what a might suggest is that you put an eraser or something in each of the mounting holes on the wing...then put some white out, or paint on the surface of the eraser. Put the wing on the trunk where it should go and the paint from the eraser should mark the spots on the trunk where the holes should be drilled.

I'm sure others can offer up alternatives, but this is a method I have used before with good success.

You may be able to find more help online if you search for a paper template to print out...this would be ideal as you would be able to put the wing exactly where it should be.

If I remember right from pulling my stock wing off...two of the holes will go all the way through the trunk so that a bolt can be installed...where as the third hole doesn't go all the way through the two layer of metal on the trunk...only going through the first so that a white fastener can be inserted. Not too sure why they needed that third fastener, as the MS wing doesn't use all three...only the two bolt holes...

Good luck.
