I got a phenominal deal but I only paid 150 bucks to have a softball sized dent fixed.
Also, Ive seen people here get their holes from debadging fixed for 200-400 dollars.

800 isnt for a paintjob.
its for fixing a dent, filling a scratch and the holes from debadging , fixing some paint smudges, then painting over the areas that need to be painted.
i think im gonna keep it stock paint and just get some imperfections fixed.

If this is in regards to the cream color, ^+1. Otherwise, ^-10.
I just had my front fenders and hood 'blended' by the dealership bodyshop to remove a bunch of rock chips, since I was getting a new bumper put on, and they charged $350. So, $800 for all of the work you are asking might not be a reasonable estimate. Being so, $1300 for an entire paint job sounds like a new sprayer trying to get some experience before the shop lets them touch any cars from real customers.

Paint
Don't pain't it a cream color man. The RX-8 is a japanese Demon that needs to be unleashed not tamed by a weak color like cream. Have you ever heard the Rolling stones song " PAINT IT BLACK". Paint it black man.

Zoom Zoom....
Labor...
If you are even thinking about changing the color of your car, take a really good look at all of the things that would need to be removed...
Starting with the doors:
they would need to be taken out to get at the sills - all of the plastic on the inside of the doors would need to be taken out, mouldings, etc. etc. etc.
Then on to the engine bay:
start by removing the engine. Then all the body electrical. Etc. Etc.
I could go on, but you get my drift. I am not a professional, but I's bet that you are looking at at least 60 hours to re & re all of the stuff to do a PROPER JOB.
Anything less than taking everything out and you are compromising the value of your car.
Plus, all of the prep, sanding, masking, etc. etc. before you ever shot color.
So.... You are looking at serious coin to do this job right.
Better just to repair and respray with your stock color.
Just my 2 cents.

Also, I'd be against the creme colored paint job as well... It wouldn't compliment the nature of the car as much. :D
