Question N00B question for ya

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forums. I just signed for my black rx8 last night and should be gettin it within a couple weeks. I was curious though. What are these silver things and can I get them? I don't beleive I saw them on the car when I looked, but I can only go at night so they might of been there, but I don't think so.

Thanks

CX

They are an accessory. They call them strakes. You can get them at one of the dealer vendors on this forum.

...and WELCOME!

I just want to point out that the strakes sold for the RX-8 are solid pieces of aluminum, not the hollow aluminum or plastic pieces you see on most other cars with strakes (such as the Mercedes-Benz SL500 and the Chrysler Crossfire).

They are $195 for a complete set of 4.
They are real easy to install and require no special tools, just patience.
The instructions even come with a template to make the alignment of the strakes easy.
Each has a screw and adhesive backing. You just remove the plastic vent from each side of the car (by pushing it out from behind) and screw the strakes on at points indicated in the instructions.
Then you reattach the vents and pull the backing off of the adhesive strips and press.
I think it took about 20 minutes to put mine on.

If you can wait a little while, keep in eye on eBay - they've been going for $150-160.
