need headlight

Not sure if this is the right place for this. I need a new driver side headlight. Old one has major condensation. Dealer says not covered. Cost is $959 plus $150 to install. And that's just the clear shell, no bulb. I asked the parts gut how he could actually say that with a straight face. I started laughing since it was so ridiculous. Thanks for any help.

with HID or without? If you need the HID headlamp - i have an extra one (with bulbs and all). Mines not for sale at the moment due to another sale pending.

Anway, i suggest deleting this thread, and posting it in the Parts For Sale/Wanted thread.

Smile Headlight

I just ordered my passenger side headlight w/hid from a guy on ebay..he had the drivers side too...he is MUCH cheaper than any I could find around here or on ebay..the cheapest at the junkyard was $350...I am getting this one for around 183.00 but I still have to buy a bulb..I think I can get that for around $40.00..still better than $350.. with used bulb that might go out at any time..

frig, have you checked with Paul over at Mazmart? He might have some in. He's a forum vendor on here, you can find his sub-forum at the top of the home page.

How is that not a warranty item? I know bulbs aren't covered but the housing should be. I have serious condensation on a taillight, which should be MUCH cheaper, but I jsut assumed it would be covered when I brought it in next...

Smile I'm covered

I just went back to my Mazda dealer in Toms River, NJ. I spoke to Joe (the service manager). I told him about my problem and he couldn't understand why I was told that I wasn't covered. Someone in the central office said my headlight wasn't covered because I was the second owner. Joe wasn't satisfied with this so he called Mazda directly. I am now covered thanks to Joe and his efforts. If any of you have any issues, he's the man. Thanks Joe

Smile Headlight replaced

I just had my headlight w/condensation replaced! All thanks to Joe at Toms River Mazda. He saved me $1,100. Not that I would have bought a $959 headlight casing from them. Thanks Joe.
