Need an Opinion on Shinka Body Kit Prices!!!

I got a quote from my dealer for parts, paint and install on a shinka (black cherry)
for front splash guards, side aero flares and rear spoiler - approx $1250.00
body kits are not available for the shinka....paint has to be custom d/t black cherry.. I need an opinion on the price....
thanks

I had an entire MS Kit (in primer) painted for $800 with 100% Paint match guarantee.

The install would take ~ 2-3 hours at most for the parts (it's a simple DIY)

Get the paint code, take it to a good body shop, and see what they say....

thanks for the input....do you think that someone other than mazda could do the black cherry?....I wouldnt be too concerned if it were more of a standard color....as far as install goes....I dont have the time, patience or tools at my age....I just want to make sure that the price is not too high....

Any bodyshop can paint the black cherry, you just need to get them the color code.

The color match for the black cherry would be easy for any body shop. If you have the paint code it would help but that isnt even required becasue all body shops have color cards for what ever brand of paint they use. (ie PPG or House of Kolor)

No, don't let the dealer do it. Save some cash and do the install yourself. Get the paint code from the dealer, take it to a paint shop, they paint, you install. Easy black cherry pie. :D

Hey dazy - you have more faith in me than I do.....I think its a big deal that Im going to try to install the clear corners and strakes......I dont do rear spoilers and its hard for me to work on the ground at my age....(53f) lol.....I will get the paint code and get some prices elsewhere....who should I order the primered parts from?

Wow....another 8 in Delaware County....I havent seen any, but maybe thats because I spend a lot of time in Delaware for work...I did post a thread in the regional forum area for Delaware Countians and got no responses....thats sounds great about the body shop...has he done any work for you....where do you suggest I get the parts from....Ive emailed the dealer for the color code.....I peeked at your pix.....I love that nordic green...its sort of like the black cherry....without sun it looks somewhat black.....the sun brings out the cherry and green.....maybe we could meet up some where....say TJs....thats the hot spot for the blue ribbon special!!!!! I joined the tristate club...they are having a meet this sunday up in bucks county....

One thing you need to think about is no matter who you have shoot the parts, metallic paints can end up looking a little mis-matched compared to the rest of the car. I've seen this on many pictures of 8's with MS front clips, especially with Velocity Red... the metal flake particles look like they're going in a different direction on the newly painted part than the original paint job in certain lighting conditions.

thanks for your point......but I may have to end up having the dealer do it because the pieces I want seem to be OEM from the appearance package (ie side and rear aero flares, front splash guards and rear spoiler) I cant seem to find anyone that has these parts primed....mazdaparts.com does not have.....can anyone point me in the right direction?
