I don't like this at all, it completely messes up the flow of the design lines. The original MS body kit blows this away by far. There's far too many conflicting lines of flow; I can't believe Mazda designers even had anything to do with this. I've put white lines on the image to show the mish-mash of what's going on here.

Yeah, I have to agree with this, the original design of the RX-8 is rather complex, but if you look at it, there is a meathod to its madness. It has matching fender flares front and back that connect to a flare that runs along the bottom of the doors. The flares also connect to the front and rear bumper in the same fashion. This new fender changes the front flare so that it looks nothing like the rear. The rear of the flare is no longer round but drawn out and pointed.
The teardrop shapes on the leading and trailing ends of the sideskirts and the lower part of the front bumper also don't match any other design themes on the car.
The front bumper (like the original MS front) also screws up the front flare by creating an awkward area under the corner marker where the round flare should continue down. Most kits for the RX-8 do this though, with a few exceptions. The Vertex Lang kit keeps the line of the flair and it looks awesome. I wish MS would have incorporated that into this bumper.
Now that I sound like a total design snob... I really like the front openings on this bumper, it really gives the 8 a different look. The wing is also pretty cool looking.

I would call the new ms kit 2nd gen. The MS ver2 is already out in japan and it has the 1st gen ms kit on it along side with ms parts galore... (Just for your info..)

For anyone's that curious, I called Mazda up today and asked about production of any parts off the MazdaSpeed concept shown at the Tokyo Auto Show (the one with the wide fenders).
After getting bounced around a couple times (with the best of intentions) I finally got to speak with someone with the MazdaSpeed Accessories department. He said that there were absolutely no plans to put those parts into production right now or for the foreseeable future. It was purely a concept model designed to get some attention.
