Do they sell an LED bulb for the high beams or one that can be used for them? I can find all the other lights but those.

An LED bulb is not even close to bright enough for your high beams. Using an LED for headlight is very dangerous.

From the V-LEDS F.A.Q.: "These bulbs are intended for use as a Day Time Running light or for aesthetic purposes only. They are a great match for HID headlights but not intended to be used as a primary source of light."

No, they don't currently sell an H9 bulb, but if you are interested in using an LED bulb you may want to google H11/H9 swaps. I know you can use H9 bulbs in H11 sockets with minor modification (some have done this for brighter fogs) so I'm sure you could go the other way too.

Like YeahYeah said, the LEDs aren't bright enough to drive by. I see you're from Canada so your brights double as DRLs, right? Swapping out for LED DRLs will look great, but keep in mind if you are on a dark road at night they won't help you see as brights.

EDIT: Here's a link to converting an H9 to fit the H11. Should be pretty easy to go the other way too.

Good point Aipex, I didn't notice it was a Canadian question.

Either way, I don't think I'd recommend putting LEDs in your high beams.

Most of these are sold out from the original links and it doesnt look like they are gonna be stocking them anymore, anyone know anywhere else to get them? And the parking light ones (the 2825) are the 2 small ones in the front that are closer to the center than the headlight bulb right?

Ya Apeix8 your dead on...they operate on the DRL module at half power for day times. The lights that are just to the inside of the HID's also serve for high beams. I'll look up the swap. What would that do for the DRL's tho?

Us Canadians are a lil screwy I'll admit. Thanks guys.

I cleaned up the first page a bit and removed any bulbs that are no longer available. There are some bulbs that are out of stock, but they will be restocked in a week or two.

If you replace your high beam bulb with an LED bulb it should look the same whether it's at half power or full power. I'm not sure if the RX-8 is wired to notice if the DRL is out though, so you may get a bulb out warning. Do keep in mind that you will basically be losing your high beams if you do it.

Ok thanks, I saw you are testing a new bulb for the 194. Thats the main one im interested in for the front parking lights so let me know. Also, I think I already asked this but the front parking lights are the ones in the headlight unit closest to the grill right? not the bulbs on the side of the car by the fender? thanks again

That's correct, the small projector-ish looking lights on the far inside of the headlight housing. I'll let you know if they fit in a couple days. I doubt there will be a problem though, as the tube that bulb sits in is fairly deep. Those bulbs may not work in some of the other interior spots though, like the map lights.

So Apeix8, you were saying that getting H9 bulbs would work for the high beams? I read up on that link for the H11 to H9 bulb which I most likely will do since its so easy. Thanks for that, that was good.

Well, an H11 converted to H9 will work for DRLs, you won't really have high beams anymore if you go this route. You'll be able to turn them on, but they won't be bright enough to light the road. As long as you are okay with a lack of high beams, go for it. Personally, I never use my high beams.

Ihavent used vleds yet because their site said they were out of the 2825 bulb i wanted for corners and parking lights so i just ordered parking, corners, and D2S 6000k hids for headlights from ijdmtoy.com.

These lights are actualy really nice! They are really bright and all look almost the same

hey man, are these the piaa yellows you run for your fogs? i'm ok with the price if they will last, but otherwise it does seem a bit pricey. can i find them elsewhere maybe?

and i looked up our bulb codes, and i think this is correct, but it does say "headlight bulbs" in the description

The description is correct, but the pic is wrong. And that price is kinda high. Did a quick google search and came up with this:

http://www.amazon.com/PIAA-Plasma-Ye.../dp/B000GKD6Y6

And, yeah, mine have lasted a long time. PIAA is good quality.

Okay, got the new 194 bulbs. They are brighter than the old 4x high power bulbs (although not enough to really tell in a photo from my crappy camera). Good news is that they fit in the parking lights, map lights and door courtesy lights.

Here's a comparison shot, discontinued 3 and 4 high power bulbs and the new one:

I moved the old 4x bulbs from the parking lights to the map lights and the 3x from the map lights to the door courtesy (after testing the new 4x in both places).

Most likely the bulbs are bad. How long have you had them? I would contact V-LEDS and see if they will replace them. I believe they warranty them for 90 days. I had a similar problem with my first set of fog bulbs and they replaced them right away.

Color temp of white bulbs is approx 6000K, but they also have 6000K HID bulbs so you can get a good color match.

Aipex8...the above was from your OP. Please forgive me but my head is spinning from trying to follow this 29 page thread and all its updates lol. Does the above imply that if your looking to match your new LEDS to the factory HID headlights that you should order the LEDS in 6000k?? I was going to go your route and start by swapping the factory HIDs for 6000Ks....but decided against it. Bottom line...Im lookin to match all around to the factory HIDs...which you stated were 4300K and close to "pure white".

If you want to match the stock 4300K HIDs, the 5000K LEDs will be the closest. They don't have a huge selection of 5000K though, as I think most prefer 6.

These will work for the parking lights:
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/C...14849-1-2.html

These will work for side markers:
http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...98419-1-2.html

I say just go for the 6000K, more options.

a note of caution on ordering the PIAA bulbs from amazon. make sure you double check they've shipped you the 55w, not the 80w fogs. I ordered twice and was sent the 80's both times. Putting an 80w bulb in our fog light housing will result in a puddle of melted plastic pretty quickly.

Agreed....the 6000Ks all around look great. Thanks for the tip and the links...but now you have me thinking....again. Damn you LOL.
